Another cracking job, i remember moving into an new house, small ranch style fence separating the property off, so decided new fence, put those MET POSTS in, a few years later in a high wind the fence was blown down in parts, snap off at the top of the metal met posts, so took them all out and replaced them with concrete posts still solid as a rock. keep the vids coming, all the best lads.

Those meta posts don’t last long before the rust eats them 😬🧱👍🏼

Comcrete posts are great. Our place was built in 1976, the original concrete posts are still there. Some are starting to crumble as the steel is corroding, but most are still doing well.

Looks good. A few years back i did my fence down the length of the drive, only 4ft high. Some one mentioned putting some old stones (small bits and pebbles in the hole before putting post in) then put concrete in so water in the post can drain away as soil around it drys. That was in 1987 and they are still in first class condition. So it did work. But, it was also the day when wood was treated to last. We cant do that now. Keep making videos, love watching you guys.

Cracking job lads well done 👍 when I did my fence I used concrete posts think there worth the extra money and will last way longer. I found the post digger not very useful. The ground I was digging was very stoney, lots of stones and rubble in the ground, so just dug the holes with a spade , bucket and my hands. My holes were no where near as neat as yours, some were too deep 3ft plus (was aiming for 2ft) had to pack out with hardcore. And some were near 2ft wide lol 😂 I used on average 5 bags of postcrete per post. Some posts I used 8-10 bags!! One hole was so deep and wide I used 8bags of postcrete and 3 bags of ballast to make concrete to fill it out! All because I got carried away digging! Had some very high winds here and touch wood they are going strong.! Are you doing the inside or customer just wants outside cladded?
@SteveAndAlexBuild4 жыл бұрын
james swain I find the concrete posts fragile and a decent pressure treated post will outlast concrete ones . We don’t dig with the diggers just get the muck out with them . 8 bags of post mix is a serious hole alright 😳🧱👍🏼
@JimJimpmjj4 жыл бұрын
@@SteveAndAlexBuild ah I see! If I ever do a fence again I might try some decent wooden posts. Those concrete posts are so heavy! Nice job, is the customer leaving it like that or you going back to clad the inside too?
