WE HAD A COMPLAINT

We had a complaint on site .
The portable toilet and a small about of stone was enough for someone to report us to the council.
The video explains what's happened.
Our job is hard enough without this complaint
We do are very best to keep everyone happy but sometimes it's just not good enough for some people.

Gutted for ya. Think that cul-de-sac needs a 10% premium added to any future jobs. Stupidity of it all is that you know damn well some council employee who enforces these things, will need a driveway doing one day, if you said £400 extra to NOT store anything temporarily on footpath, what they gonna say?

From a tradesman to tradesman, living in another valley, I feel your pain! You can only piss with the cock you have. No wonder the councils are in so much debt, sending letters and officials to inspect and scrutinise legitimate tradesmen The council need to take a leaf out of your book to do a job properly, efficiently and right first time. Most likely one of the neighbours is envious as they have saw your quality of work on the tube, your all above board and its the only little thing they can complain about. Boulders my arse......

Sounds like a council worker trying to justify their position and salary! For me, I'd ask to see the councils report including photographs (because we don't want to do the same misdemeanour again do we?) LOL! Poor customer, having to live with obnoxious neighbours like that.

well just put a sign on it saying 'SITE OFFICE' ...put an 'H' between the first two letters... that way, you can point out that is Official Private Pooperty... but I am not really sure if you should have too much dialogue with a person who refers to pebbles as boulders...

I am a home owner, been building a garden room in the garden for social events etc, spoke to all the neighbors to make sure they are happy (bare in mind, they all have sheds the same size as said garden room), but no they still reported it to the council, so they council came round, measured up, happy it was within spec but upset they had their time wasted, moral of the story, trust no one

Jealousy is a very sad trait to own, unfortunately for ones that haven't yet woken up it will keep on happening, also have had very jealous neighbours who have tried to then cause disruption on jobs, picking holes in the minute of things and when you are trying to help all even doing a favour for them they don't remember the good only see the bad. With any luck it will ease off for you all as dont need that and it hindering at back of mind all the time. Good luck with rest of job keep up the quality work all the best to you all.

Can never underestimate the jealous neighbour gets upset that people have work done and other people are working some people think they own street. I do a lot of jobs on the road you get used to using the bottle just make sure if you use old feb bottle don't mix up when doing a gauge 😅 the tub in extreme emergency runny #2. Maybe get a pack on van and make a pad to unload though gonna be annoying/time consuming

Thanks Mark we do our best.I pay for the loo as it ticks many boxes sometimes there is 3 of us on site so the trips to Asda can become a pain .Two complaints now about the loo just trying to do the right thing .it's crazy isn't it 👍

From your vids you and your boys do a cracking job, I wouldn’t sweat it. We’ve all had it before from clients / customers / neighbours / randoms and have to take it on the chin. Being a caring person in your work it does throw you for a bit but I’m sure your customer will be happy with the end result. Must say I’ve never so own the council get a complaint letter out so fast though, can’t have bugger all also to do with their time!

During the NZ Christchurch Earthquake rebuild I was a project manager involved with the residential repairs. So whilst managing anywhere between 40 to 50 site’s, I had one particular woman, who’d set about to terrorise the construction crew on the property being repaired behind her’s. Words fail me as to how vile and foul this person was. Shortly after we’d commenced repairs, she denied access through a common right of way, she became so unhinged that I was worried about her mental health and safety of the construction team, that I had to call in the police. Her daughter had tried to calm her down and I really felt bad for her, because moment’s before the police arrived, this woman hurriedly vacated the scene and left her daughter and I to explain what had happened. Turned out this woman was a lawyer from overseas and had been advised to take leave and seek a period of rest for a while. Two weeks later we completed the repairs and we never saw her again. What became apparent during this period, was that it was always the affluent neighbourhoods that we would encounter obnoxious behaviour.

That is crazy especially after an earthquake. Thanks for sharing your experience and I'm glad after informing the police it was sorted out .I genuinely think that some people see a van and dusty clothes and they look down on tradespeople. Ignorance to the fact that our job is highly skilled that takes years and years to learn . Van dirty clothes = equals common un educated idiot that these people feel they are way better than us because they sit in a big house with a nice car .very small minded so I do get your point and it's a relevant point.
