Have to say Justin this advice is not just for the landscape business this is general business advice. You are very generous to share with others.

Insightful stuff Justin. There’s loads of variables in Landscaping, many of which you have little control over but, it does have its moments and I really miss the satisfaction of transforming outside spaces. Understanding your own value is key in a sector where many consumers don’t. Content like this goes a long way in educating those who focus on price not value.

Really enjoyed this video. I’ve been in building/landscaping for 15 years. And a lot of the points you’ve made is why I’ve never gone on my own. I like going home at the end of the day and switching off(try to), not having those extra burdens and worries of the next day. Hats off to you for doing it and for being so honest. I’ve watched your videos for quite a while and have picked up some great tips so thanks for that.

It's just turned 0600am, I watched most of this last night then fell asleep, not because of you Justin but because I was bloody tired so I wanted to finish it this morning and now I have. I love watching landscape videos, it is fascinating to see what can be done to these gardens that previously people just accepted were always going to be looking like derelict land but are now coming across people like you and are realizing that it's possible to have outdoor spaces the likes of which you would only ever see if you went to some posh hotel on holiday. You are up there with the best on you tube and when it comes to videos of the 'instructional' type you are the best, I haven't seen many others that offer the same kind of detail when it comes to explaining things as you do and I wouldn't mind betting that a lot of landscapers have you on there must watch list. You are as honest as the days long, you don't hide anything in your videos and anyone that employs you for a project would know that from doing their research and seeing your work on KZbin they are guaranteed a fantastic job on their garden. It was interesting listening to you and getting an insight into the workings of a landscaping business which I'm sure is the same for most businesses and the next time I get someone around for a quote I will be mindful of what you have said. Stop running yourself down, everyone has something they're good at and your talent is making amazing driveways and gardens. You are easily holding your own on KZbin in what is becoming a very competitive market. I was amused when you said you thought about doing porcelain and didn't think you could do it then you went away and did your research (was it KZbin 😂) and then you mastered it and you have mastered it because your work is bloody brilliant. I'd love it if you did a job for me because you like a laugh and I'm sure it would be a pleasure and a laugh having you in my garden doing a job for me. Keep the videos coming, people like you will never be out of work because you are craftsmen. Good luck and be proud of who you are because you are as capable as anyone out there 👍.

Hi Justin mate. I love these van blogs. Agree with everything you said. I’ve learnt a lot from you over the last few years. Much more confident going into jobs even from a few years ago. I always worry about winter time and if the work will come in but somehow manage to get through ! I’m very passionate about the quality now so I carry on with a good name. Anyway mate, gonna get my self a beer, sitting by a pool in Turkey ! Back to the grindstone next week !

Let’s get shot of vat and introduce a sales tax on EVERYTHING of say 10%. This way no business can claim vat back which stops all vat fraud which means the government will get a huge windfall of incoming tax and we can all benefit from 10% instead of 20% tax on sales goods. Keep it simple. I’m a business owner of 24yrs vat registered doing my vat each quarter. 🙄 Imagine also the money government would make if we went cashless! No more tax dodging by “cash” deals.
@brickrightbuildinglandscaping2 ай бұрын
That's a very good point costs me £200 every quarter for the accountants to do my vat .As I said in the domestic building trade vat can be an unfair stumbling block so your point is a valid one 👍🙌
