The glint of the lights looks lovely on the water when it's dark.
@hlevolve3 ай бұрын
For the lights under the table, I'd highly suggest two things. One, don't put them at the very edge of the tables so that you see the actual LED's, either place them further back underneath so it just lets the light come down underneath OR build a bit of a wooden border around your table edges and then place them behind that. It'll look WAY cleaner and nicer. 2nd I'd very much suggest something like Philips Hue light strips or similar ones that are individually controllable / customizable. Then you could have things built like the under sea area/etc and you could color the lighting for the area like a nice deep blue or maybe for another area like a cave or something you could do like a dark greenish or purple type of hue to make it look more formidable/etc. Just one of those things if you put something like that in from the get go then you can use the functionality for whatever you like later on since it is very customizable. Also just want to say super excited to see the lights in the set, I think it makes the city feel so much more "alive" when you can add the lighting and really take it to that next level.

The wall art looks great the way you have it using the large vertical pieces to break up the grouping and the long horizontal iron to further that transition is awesome. End of the day it’s your space and you should happy with how you want it.

@michellechrisman90843 ай бұрын
I don't normally put my two cents in because I absolutely love everything you do. My suggestion is, why don't you put the deep sea in the cubbies under the castle diorama. That way, you can see it when you walk in, and it won't be hidden by the castle platform. You can line each cubbie with baseplates and make 1 continuous long scene or break it up and make several different scenes. Keep up the great work. I love the channel!!!
@annaphilpott6803 ай бұрын
That would be really cool having the sides and tops of the cubbies lined with baseplates. Would give some much more ability to have sea life “suspended” in the water.

How about letting your audiance donate custom Lego art for your staircase display area? Would be fun see what folks send in. You could change art out periodically as new is donated. Maybe even have contests for the seasons, like who can send in the best snowman picture and the best ones get hung for the season. Lot of fun and creative ways this could go.

On the baseplates, Lego switched over from plastic packaging to the current paper packaging for sustainability efforts. Any reason you might know why they do not sell baseplates in sets of 5 or 10? They may no sell well in traditional retail stores for the average consumer, but may sell well on their website or Lego stores where there are users with bigger projects. There are non Lego brand baseplates on Amazon that come in packs of 6 and 12 with large quantities being sold already, so it does look like there is a market to package multiple baseplates versus individuals.

I suspect that the heating and the current heat wave you've had has had something to do with the sticky tabs failing. When I put some Halloween decorations up last year, the ones that were over a radiator kept falling down and when I've used blue tack to put up pictures and posters, they often fall down during a heat wave. It dries out the adhesive. I'm not much of a fan of command hooks and similar products for the same reason.

@@skidoomach1 as all of his lighting and wiring for them was installed new, he shouldn't need new wiring at all, just an LED specific dimmer switch.
@skidoomach13 ай бұрын
@@alycynde5237 I have been an electrician for 34 years and installed plenty of commercial LED strips, you need separate low voltage wiring ran to each fixture to control the dimming function, there is only one electrical drop going to each fixture. This is not like the light in your house, so unfortunately you need more then a dimmer from HD.
