I am learning such a lot of ski terminology and the slopes and all the rest of the landscaping for the mountain is looking terrific. It's starting to warm up here in AUS we're starting to hit the beaches.

You should consider ordering some of the new translucent blue rock panels (3161)to add glaciation to your ski hill or Santa’s mountain.

I think you should leave it there for a longer period. If you're worried about it being to "Christmassy" just take down the Christmas decorations in the village and remove Santa. It's always summer in the lego city, so it's not a bad idea to have an area where it is always winter.

Dude, this is why you need the warehouse/Lego museum.. so you can have a sky resort and winter village year round.. I’m just saying but I’d make the trip up there just to see it. Think of all the displays you could create in a larger space?

The Winter Village is my big build every year. It changes annually and last year I was up to 44 baseplates. I started using the LEGO boxes for my North Pole and ski resort two years ago. I find that they didn’t quite work the way I planned. They were a huge part saver for building mountains but they just didn’t look as good as my traditional mountain building. I’m interested to see how yours works out.

If you need a short riser next time, you might think about just using the lid of the Ikea if it will sit on a baseplate like the bottom of the box does. I wonder if 2 lids will stack together.

Those things (ikea storage boxes) sure fill out terrain quicker than using duplo or brick supports with big plates! You've inspired me enough to start cataloging all of my sets and parts on rebrickable.

Hey Jordan, why not use the design in set 41324 as a base for the ski lift? You could customise the colours for your ski slopes and would likely be less parts intensive than recreating the gondola from City Markets

You can use hinges to slant plates and change up the angles of slopes (like some roofs are built) and that will also save bricks.

Suggestion- to add trees on the corner that is above the tram track, than have a mini figure bursting through the trees lookin like he’s gonna jump the tram/tracks (got to much speed going down the slopes)

In every stream there are people asking you how to start building a Lego city. I think that those people should watch the videos when you are building the Winter Village 2023 from scratch. In the beginning it's kinda chaotic, there's trial and error (trying out new building techniques), there are setbacks... lots of things happen during the building process. I am really looking forward to the final product/outcome. I think that the Winter Village 2023 will be super epic.
