Great video mate, You and your son always do a fantastic job! Wondering - the way you mitre cut those bricks, would you do exactly the same if you were doing a wall for a house at an irregular angle? (would you use ties or the mesh?) Cheers
@SteveAndAlexBuild4 жыл бұрын
Yes mate , exactly that 🧱🧱👍🏽
@Frenchwine156 жыл бұрын
It does look good but why didn't you use some squirt bricks for the corner that wasn't at 90 degrees rather than puttingin a straight joint. Also a double tile crease looks better than an overhanging course of brick. Your work is nice and clean though. But the jointing is dreadful due to using a Marshall town jointing tool better to use a WHS or Tyzack.
@SteveAndAlexBuild6 жыл бұрын
It all boils down to individual taste I suppose. I’ve been using Marshalltown jointers for as long as they have been around and never had a complaint about my jointing . As far as the oversailer I don’t like the tile ... too many joints and mortar going on for frost to get at . The straight joint on the corner was because the angle isn’t a standard 45 degrees so squint bricks weren’t suitable. Thanks for watching and commenting 🧱👍🏽

Steve and Alex as a third generation bricklayer having stated at the age of 16 ( 44 years in the trade) all I can say is " I am not perfect by any means but I always strive for perfection". Of course this is something that is never achievable as I can always see room for improvement in my own work. On. The whole I think the finished work looks well and most customers will be highly delighted. However, take it from me try one of the Suggested jointers and a thing called a rail runner something that was used extensively in Australia for long bed jointing. These suggest tools will make your good work look better. I am always looking to improve my work and if someone can do something I have not thought of I am more than happy to give it a try in case there is improvement in my finished product. Regards DD
