BRIC was started in 2001. The mission initiative behind BRIC was to create a "new reserve currency" to compete with the USD. They have not lost focus of this and continue to move forward. Of course today the membership has expanded to BRICS+, that is a 10 member group. I certainly agree with you that a multi-currency system makes sense. After all in 1944 at Breton Woods, that was a consideration of all of the attending nations. Of course when it was all said and done only one currency was selected. Furthermore it was "de Gaulle" that coined the phrase exorbitant privilege with good reason. Can you blame anyone for not wanting a money printing press ?
