I feel for this woman. I had to rent my wedding gown 35 years ago; as a plus size woman there just wasn't anything available in the bridal salons. I wasn't happy on my wedding day either. I'm glad we have people like Jo & Al now; & Gok, he designs gown while woman is wearing it! Note; these people AREN'T in the USA 🇺🇸. American designers need to open up their eyes; there's a market out there for curvy brides. The average American woman is NOT a size 6.

I'm an obese woman and I felt Jessica, Randy, and Joan did their very best given the budget. Two grand is a lot of money for most of us though we do see many of their customers spending thousands more. I tend to think Randy was right; this lovely customer was so fearing having another fiasco that nothing was good enough. I felt a couple of them looked quite nice on her but if she doesn't see that there's not much anyone can do. I certainly hope she was eventually successful in finding a gown. I feel for everyone involved.

@Nicole Fox I'm sorry but I have to disagree with you ladies and I'll tell you why because most people that get married don't even make it through the first year of marriage let alone the first 10 years and half end in divorce. The initial wedding is actually less important than a vowel renewal because you haven't even started the real work yet which is the marriage not a wedding. The vowel renewal is especially important because it shows that you have made it over tremendous milestones and still have come out strong and still in love that's what it represents. This is coming from a woman who has been married for almost 10 years now and in a almost 20 year long relationship and yes I also will be renewing my vows too because it is just as important if big even more important. 😉

I bet that those dresses are way over $2000. Remember that the same number in pounds equals a higher dollar price. For the extra fabric, pattern changes, and better structural components, there is a lot of additional cost. There is a reaaon why the budget and price of the gowns are never mentioned on the show. And just because all the brides on the show find their dresses there doesn't mean that all the brides who go there always find their dresses. The ones who are on the show usually use this shop as a last-minute stop because they couldn't find anything anywhere else. So they have lowered expectations AND an increased budget because of the time constraints.

I'm a US size 22, and I would recommend to brides shopping for their dream gown to wear your best foundation garments, an approximation of the hair you'll have the day of, and your absolute favorite makeup look when you shop. Stick with no statement jewelry to distract from the looks, too. This bride is a cutie pie and I hope she finds the perfect dress for her!

I really liked the dress that her family liked, 2nd to last. It really fit her well, made her look 2 sizes smaller, and was very flattering. @Karen Houser I agree. Her low budget made it really hard for her to find her dress. Kleinfeld doesn't have any designers who actually design exclusively for bigger bodies. I know Christian Siriano does, and he has designs there, but he is way over $2000. I think she should have gone to a plus-size wedding dress store, and possibly outside NYC. But I also think she should have done a little more research into the style of dress that looked good on her and where to find that kind of dress. Brides who prep well usually find what they're looking for.

Randy is right her expectations are so high and IMO she is constantly disappointed with how she sees herself in the mirror. My advice to her would be to put off the renewal until she can budget more for the dress and seriously consider weight loss because until she gets a body that she can admire she will never find a gown. It was my impression that she was hoping to find a dress that made her look sleeker so I think she needs to budget more.

Almost every bride coming through their shop has issue with their size but the dresses there are BEAUTIFUL with a lot of shapes and silhouettes these women care about their clients and how they feel. Kleinfeld's should take a page from their book.

I think one of the things that Randy meant was that her expectations exceed the amount of money she has to spend. I think the staff tried very hard to find her a dress with very little to go on from the bride and I believe the consultant was right in that she did not know what she wanted. It sounds like with her first wedding more things went wrong than went right so she has a lot of negative memories and that can be very difficult to overcome. I still feel that she did not like what she saw in the mirror which is a shame. Being a plus size woman I can understand why shopping is not always very pleasant. I think Kleinfeld's problem is that they have gowns in plus sizes but not plus size gowns that are designed especially for plus sizes like at Curvey Brides, not just larger sizes in their existing inventory. Gowns designed for plus sizes have different and more appropriate structure to compliment a plus size figure.

Second, proportionately the amount of larger dresses are far less than 10-14 sized dresses, and the few plus sizes they have are ugly and not at all flattering. I urge you to watch Jo and Al Curvy Boutique in the UK. Those ladies are nothing short of amazing and they have beautiful flattering dresses in all silhouettes. Please give it 10 minutes of your time and you will agree with me.

I had a consultant tell me she wouldn't even take my dream dress off of the manequin because "you won't look right in that dress". I settled for "a dress". When my daughter got married, I cut it all up and made her a photo album and guest book out of my dress.

Jo and AL would have had a totally different approach. This lovely lady is having trouble accepting her body shape and size so when Klienfelds could only offer a small selection the bride is getting more and more depressed. These consultants need training when dealing with a plus size lady showing them things they may not have thought about, and getting to the root of the problem which is accepting your body for what it is. I hope she finds/found something as she us a very pretty lady.

I've seen many episodes of SYTYCD where they've had plus size women. And a lot of the time, 9 times out of 10, they've been able to accommodate them. This poor woman went in already defeated, like she expected not to be able to find anything. The dress she liked, her family didn't like, so what?!?!? They weren't the ones that were going to wear it. There's no way in hell I'd let anyone discourage me in wearing something I liked. I'd love for Randy to pick out a gown for me! But I do have to say this:as a plus sized woman, there's no way I'd ever wear a strapless, or dress that was sleeveless, because personally, I don't want or think people need to see how big my arms are. But that's just me.....

It's a shame she thought her first wedding was a disaster because she looked good to me. I don't really see the point of doing it all again after just four years. The wedding is one day, you are just as married whether it's fairytale perfect or has a few blips and that's the important thing. I don't want to be mean but I can't help thinking 'get over it'!.

Kleinfeld does not have any flattering dresses for plus size women. There was this episode of a preacher's daughter when they actually raised the price and the chosen gown was still a big fail. Compare the dresses in the UK shop for big women and one can see the difference.

I really appreciate that this bride didn't compromise on something she didn't love. I wish that some of the sentiments that were shared in the beginning were also stated at the end. They talked about that "Cinderella moment" and that plus-sized brides shouldn't have compromise on something they didn't love. I understand that she had specific requirements and a set budget that created a set of parameters. The last thing that's said is that they assume what's holding her back is the memory of the first dress. While that is a possibility, it's not the only one. Fashion and bridal fashion still have a long way to go in terms of inclusivity. I get that Say Yes to the Dress is a business but I would love to see a more full acknowledgment that there is more progress to be made. Or even, if there was a comment at the end that they were disappointed they couldn't help her find the perfect dress.

She's not a bride. She was a bride 4 years ago. She's convinced herself that her dress was ugly, but actually it fits her beautifully and makes her more pretty. A 'renewal of vows' is something ridiculous to begin with. And hers 'expired' very soon. Is her husband getting tired of her constant complaining? Is she trying to bind him to her with renewed vows? She better spend 2K on therapy for herself to not see everything so dark.

This store does not specialize in plus sized brides. Isn't it something that the UK show has BEAUTIFUL dresses well within a $2K budget. Kleinfeld's needs to step up their game and add this specialized department. The plus sized dresses they did carry did not and would not flatter a plus sized person. I hope the bride finds something she loves. Kleinfeld's does a great job, but in this area, they can do much, better.

Depends on where you shop and what you are looking for. I tend to shop at Ashley Stewart because it fashionable plus sized wear. H&M has nice work clothes that sometimes comes in plus size. And Ive bought all this summer's work shirts and pants at Shein. They fit great.

There are many different shops in Australia that cater to plus size. All sorts of materials and styles. And the outfits look fabulous too (not shapeless tents).

I wish Curvy Brides Boutique was in the USA and not the UK. If you're plus size your really need to go to a plus size boutique. Considering the average size of a woman in the US and how popular Kleinfelds is they really should add a plus size section. I hope she found her dream dress❣

This Jessica the consultant in this episode was really trying high and low to find something for this client, hope they didn't cut her bonus or something for letting the client go with no purchase. I think that the budget was the main obstacle here, to select something with enough wow factor to overcome her insecurities.

A married women isn't a bride and her husband isn't her fiance. Vow renewals can have great significance after 20 or more years of marriage. I saw one at my church which was very beautiful. The couple had be married over 50 years I believe. They had family and friends there to witness their renewed vows. It was very moving to hear them say for better or for worse, in sickness and in health etc. They lived this commitment for decades and it was an honor to watch them recommit. The wife wore a nice dress and the husband wore a suite. The ceremony wall all about their love and commitment not about the dress and how the woman looked.

I thought she looked nice in the first dress from her original wedding. She can do what she wants, but why bother with a new dress. After 4 years why even renew your vows. I found it odd. She seems happily married, so that's all that really matters. Also, she's on a pretty strict budget. Take that money and go on a nice trip with your husband. This is just my opinion. She has her reasons for wanting to do it again. I just don't get it

None of the dresses she tried on were good enough. I think she looked lovely in her original dress. As a plus size person myself i think it's more to do with how you see in the mirror than the dresses themselves. A plus size specialist would be better as they have more idea.

American brides don't need to go abroad. There's a wonderful store in Chicago (sorry, I forgot the name), and I can't believe that it's the only shop that specializes in larger size gowns. If it is, most brides are really in trouble. Sad
