I can't even imagine Janelle's difficulty myself, no-one would have a hope in hell of convincing me in or out of of a dress, but I sincerely hope this was an empowering lesson for her because she definitely made the right decision and she looks gorgeous in that gown!!

Janelle’s mom is an angel. first saying that her aunt has to stop talking about the first dress because the bride doesn’t like it. and then when she started crying she assured her that it’s okay and it’s her day, AND THEN on top of all of that, she actually says something to the aunt, pointing out that she made Janelle cry!!! so so so refreshing to see after some of the mothers on this show.

I took my mom and my MOH and they both were cool letting me pick what I wanted. They gave support and wasn’t like oh this is better. I picked what I wanted and happy with my dress. Some brides cares about what others think because they want to please everyone. It’s my day my choice. Lol I had picked the man and I was going to pick my own dress.

I disagree to an extent. I think ‘the feeling’ is over hyped for sure when it comes to wedding dresses. As if it’s an explosion of pure raw emotion that is not comprehensible until you’ve experienced. I don’t think that’s the case. But I do think that, much like when you’re trying normal clothes on in a fitting room and find something you really really like, you might get a smidgen of that feeling. It’s just happiness that something looks good on you. The reason it’s so pertinent with wedding dresses, is because it’s an item that will be worn once, it’s for a very special occasion and it creates a sense of realization that the moment of marrying the person you love will come soon enough. And this is what you will be wearing on the day that you marry that person. Quite special I’m sure for most people. But yes it’s mystical hype is going too far and perhaps impacting future brides negatively because they expect something world shattering.

If a bride is receiving a wedding gown as a gift from her parents, that's fine - but if the wedding gown is being paid for because the bride has never had the maturity to have her own savings, then she's not mature enough to make a decision that will most likely impact her for the rest of her life.

Well, the first bride is not really that big and she is a plus size woman with a natural "waist" unlike other plus size women with bulging waist. The fat cells are in her extremities. I am the opposite and the fat cells are concentrated in my abdomen which is really more concerning because of the health issues involved.
