Why do these women agree to try dresses on knowing that they won't be getting their dream dress? They agreed to let their groom choose so they shouldn't be disappointed when they don't get what they want.

I think it's to show us what they would have wanted so we know it's the complete opposite

General clothes size and measurements would of been my first bit of info gathering if I had to buy a wedding dress for anyone, it would fit the shows rules to ask too but you probably not get any other info by show rules

You're very close on that. Most of them have had at least one child, some have had three to five kids by the time they decide to get married. Personally, if I had done that, I'd rather put any "wedding" money toward something that would benefit the whole family, and would strongly suggest that we (husband-to-be) just go to a judge or officiator and get it over with at very little cost.

Yes. There is a full episode of the wedding and all the stuff leading up to it, everything the groom had to do, but I don't know which particular season nor episode number, so can't help there. But yes, they got married on a bus.

If you are so desperate for money to pay for your wedding, then why not do what most couples do and save a bit longer to pay for what you want? That way you have full control over your dress, the venue, the groomsmen and grooms suits, the flowers, etc. all of the things that the rest of us pay for to get what we like. I could never be this desperate, nor would I have let any male apart from my father (who dressed impeccably and had excellent taste in women clothes) choose an evening dress let alone my wedding dress. Why get so upset when this is what you signed up for??

Just like any "reality" tv show, they go into it with stars in their eyes, thinking everything is going to be peaches and cream, roses and lilacs, and then the reality actually hits---their husband to be is just going for the most fun aspect he can (many of the men have very clearly not matured, even though they might be in their late 20s/early 30s). It hits the women on the wedding day that it's really HIS wedding, not hers. Most of the couples really believe it's an "easy" way to afford their wedding, so they go for it, not paying attention to the details of the contract until it's much too late to do anything but soldier on.

Nor Princess Diana! Even though her dress is now out of date, at the time, it was a complete showstopper, and she wore it with elegance and grace.

So the viewers can see the differences between the bride's tastes and what the groom thinks would look good. Otherwise, how would any viewer know what the bride really wanted in the way of a wedding dress?
