Trust me a lot of people have yet to realize just how spiteful I truly can become. I'm a nice person and I always try to seek out the more peaceful route to situations if possible, but if people want to mean towards me then I'll let them have it once I've had enough of their poor treatment of me. I've done it before hand when someone decided to hurt me and ended up breaking my trust. I went silent and when I go silent I'm definitely scary since I could very well be seething in anger and would more than likely lash out at them in the worst way possible verbally letting them know what lead up to the point. After that I went to go cool off and later on eventually made up with them. Said person and I are now a lot better off after that one nasty fight and have been much better off since then. Though in this case in revolving around OP's situation that one was more impossible to reconcile since her SIL made the situation worse and when it came to letting her emotions cloud her judgment OP had every right to lash out and speak her mind publically so that everyone can hear and none of them could turn it around when it was what they had coming to them when it was long overdue.

It's absolutely true. Someone I once knew who I thought of as a friend, but was the furthest thing from it. She used to spill to me about everyone and anything. Not that I wanted to listen. It later turned out that she was trash talking me, unsurprisingly, to anyone who would listen. There's nothing more dangerous than a friend turned enemy who knows all of your secrets. She wasn't well-liked as she treated friends like they were disposable as long as they had a resource that she coveted. I just exposed her for the unprincipled, backstabbing parasite that she truly is. I later found out that she threw a tantrum that would have embarrassed a toddler upon discovering I had blown the whistle on her. Before she could come at me, I blocked her on everything, changed my number and that was it. My only regret is I sort of wish I could have seen her epic meltdown.

@@iononcantomascrivo this brought a smile to me as I love it when people can no longer hide behind the facade that they put on for the whole world to see. I live with a narcissistic a hole for a father and brother who is either high or mentally unstable to be around and it get tiring to deal with them. The funny thing is that none of my friends want anything to do with either one of them since they heard all of the bs drama that those 2 specifically cause. I'm glad that I never dated around either one of them because they would cause more problems for me. Plus I would rather not subject anyone to that skeleton in the closet as that would be best to not let them face that nightmare.

If her husband had been man enough to intervene from the very beginning and put a stop to the meanness/cruelty of his sister and include her husband this could have been very different from the start. I've seen things like this happen after long periods of time only to finally explode and the wrong person ends up being blamed for it all, even by the spouse. It's completely destroyed at least two marriages from what I've seen, all because a spouse didn't intervene resulting in a lot of psychological pain.

Of course, this was as long as they had a resource that she coveted. I just happened to, at the time, be her latest victim. I knew too much about her. That's what happens when someone who once was a friend is turned into an enemy. I exposed her for the lying, backstabbing parasite that she is. She readily admitted that she had cheated on her husband, was only with him because she had a roof over her head, spent his money like it was an endless supply, chased after other men all the time and neglected her children. So OP going off like that was completely unacceptable. She could’ve dealt with the situation without embarrassing everyone. It’s also not just her parents, her husband, the bride, and in laws she embarrassed, she embarrassed herself too. Also ofc ppl care about big weddings if ppl didn’t they’d just go to a registrars office and get married there.

Nah, Martin sounds like a sissy too afraid to dig into the "why's" of a situation. Didn't suspect a single thing when his sister, whom he knows doesn't get along with his wife, asked his wife to be a maid of honor at her wedding. Just left it at "yeah, do it, maybe it's a kind gesture," and didn't pry any further at all. Very poor intuition. When all was said and done, all he cared about was his image instead of actually resolving the issue. He handled it by giving his wife the silent treatment until she apologized. All of that was not very "manly" bro.

Reputation means a lot in almost any professional level job. People talk about you way more than you think, and it has an effect on your promotion potential or ability to work on certain teams or projects. Wondering why you haven't gotten that promotion you wanted even though you're qualified on paper? Or why they chose someone with less experience than you? Usualky has a lot to do with your reputation. People will do their homework on you and ask around. No one wants to work with someone who has a very negative reputation. I know people who had to switch fields because they were unofficially black listed because of poor reputation and one of them was a teacher which isnt a career path where youd think reputation matters as long as youre good at your job but it does.

@MeyaRoseGirl
@MeyaRoseGirl 4 ай бұрын
It probably was unhinged to trash talk a bride over a mic on her wedding day, but everyone has their limits and Christina pushed them. She had plenty of warnings to stop and didn't. If it wasn't that big dramatic display, it needed to be something else because Christina was going to continue treating her like a doormat if she didn't shake her off. As for her original reason for not liking OP, I get being hurt for her friend, and I get that it hurts when you've placed all your hopes on a guy that barely even knows you exist, but seriously, have some pride. Pining after him is only going to make you miserable. It's not going to change how he feels. So move on and don't go blaming the girl he did choose. Martin probably came around because he realized his family was more concerned about optics than the fact that his sister had been abusing his wife, and now he has his priorities in order. So really this whole debacle is a blessing because Christina knows now not to cross OP. Martin has stepped up as a husband. And the people who chose Christina over OP without even hearing OP's side of the story have shown their true colors, so they know they're not true friends/family. On a side note, if someone chooses a stranger or loose acquaintance to be her maid of honor, it's a serious red flag. Either that person is a terrible person that can't hold on to friends, or she has an ulterior motive for wanting her to be the MOH or both. Was this friend that was in love with Martin in the wedding party? If she wasn't, that's a clue that Christina's problem with OP is more about herself than anything else. (I think it's more likely that she doesn't like that with Martin being married, it lowers her as a priority to him.) By the way, where is Christina's husband in all this drama? Does he know what a two-faced psycho mean girl his wife is? What are HIS opinions on OP, or has he just not spent enough time with her to have an opinion and just hates her now because of the drama at his wedding?

OP embodies the saying: "Even the nicest people have their limits. Don’t push them too far and don’t try to reach their limits, because the nicest people can also be the scariest when they've had enough." Christina effed around and found out. IMHO, OP's nuanced feelings about her own behavior (i.e. that she probably could've handled it more maturely, but Christina also took advantage of her & cynically manipulated her just to get that $3500 dress, so she had it coming) were more or less on point. But a sorry-I'm-not-sorry non-apology reflecting OP's authentic feelings - or an inauthentic apology offered for motives other than genuine remorse, such as social pressure from third parties - would've both most likely been seen for what they were, and only aggravated the situation anyway. If you're not _really_ sorry, then saying "I'm sorry" is basically just lying - and that's true _regardless_ of whether you're actually TA.

People don't realize that in almost all situations, nice people are presented with range of choices and they are very concious of these choices. They just act with more discrimination restraint. They have reactions but choose responses. It's how they are able to ascertain particularly what more likely would be nice in a specific context. They are not on autopilot like regular, normcore, mediocre people tend to be who can act on every very narrow and idiosyncratic impulse, emotion or whim, with little understanding of or consideration for their casualities. Nice people are hyperaware of others' feelings, situations etc in addition to their own, and thus are also acutely sensitive to when they are being wronged or even just slighted. It's that very niceness (acute awareness, understanding and empathy) that makes them dangerous because just as how they can choose one extreme (niceness), they can choose the other that may be beyond the conception of the instigator and catch them completely off guard as they sit confident and comfortable in their false sense of security. They also have the self control to calculate the worst course of act even if it requires delayed gratification. Lies hit like pistols, but truth goes off like a bomb - they can weaponize the truth of your own corruptions by merely acknowledging them. And the instigator won't get much sympathy from other fair or nice people because while the actions may be wrong, the results would be completely justified. Nos there are simple, naive, overly optimistic etc people out there- bit when they crack they have the same potential to make things really ugly if you break them at their limit. People are resilient but ther aren't infinitely indestructible. People who fight to preserve peace and harmony often can make the most vicious and calculated war lords because they have indepth understanding of dynamics explicity and consciously. Don't start no stuff - won't be no stuff 🤷🏽‍♀️

Unpopular opinion: a HUGE TA. Why in the world would someone think that doing that was justified? Yeah, Christina is a huge bitch and manipulated OP into buying her the completely unnecessary expensive dress, but what exactly has she done? Been a bitch to OP, commented on her appearance while introducing OP to the guests, but practically everything was done directly to OP. Then OP does this stunt of hers, making uncomfortable all of the people on the wedding. Had Christina's fiancee deserved this? Had her parents deserved this? I don't really think so. What she did ruined the wedding for so many people. On top of that, she gave her husband the silent treatment and focused on the fact that Christina was a b to her first. Well, yeah, but OP became an unforgettable b for everyone on the wedding. With this logic, if she'd beaten Christina to death right then and there, she would be in the right - cause Christina was a b first. What a childish logic. I also think her husbands reaction was completely justified. She did this and hasn't so much as spoken to her husband, just left and didn't call him or do explained herself in any way to him. He was completely right when he told her that there are literally infinite ways that she could've dealt with Christina. And still she argued "she wronged me first". Though his argument with "reputation" is worthless, he could've said that she just made the wedding uncomfortable for everyone, while literally nobody deserved this, except for Christina. Conclusion. OP's inability to control her emotions caused her husband being cut off from family, his family hates OP's guts. And the whole family supports Christina. Who has won in this situation? In this beef, you OP miserably. Congratulations to OP.

Yes, Christina was acting like a bitch but OP didn't just ruin the things to Christina, she ruined it to EVERYONE ELSE at the wedding. Christina'd parents, her friends, her entire family. Honesty, OP chose the worst way to handle the situation and OP should have confronted Martin before going on a such a childish tirade. People in the comments seem to not realize that Martin had thought things were going great because he wasn't informed until OP went screaming on stage without a second care in the world. I would say that Martin's reaction is actually justified since he thought that everything was fine until the childish outburst that could have been handled behind the scenes, and then could have been taken to social media if things didn't go OP's way still. Christina might be the A-hole but OP sits right up next to them for the most bipolar reaction ever.
