The 12 yr old girl is a real dancer and did a good job BUT she’s a bit overhyped by a lot of ppl. She ONLY did 25% of Megan’s movements the rest was done by animatronics. She did the cobra ruse WITH a rope. It wasn’t by herself. And I never found the all 4s that complicated at all. In fact I used to do it alot when I was her age and can still do it now. The only advanced move I saw was the aerial clip.

I was thinking this is that Chucky reboot they tried to do. It's the same exact story of an AI trying to protect their kid. The only difference is that M3gan isn't a reboot or a reimagined version of something that already exists. It's a brand-new doll/new characters and that's what made it successful. A lot of the Chucky reboot complaints where it was a decent movie but if only it wasn't Chucky lol

I went to see it January 8th and I saw it again. Then I seen it 5 times and I absolutely love this movie. ❤ ❤This is a movie that is so more damn good, you have to love the character herself for being, a bit scary, funny and can touch your heart (to make you cry). Unlike most horror icons, M3gan is the perfect example of balancing her personality and the movie (and never tries too hard to be over the top like Chucky and Freddy Krueger or being underrated like Candyman). And the fact that this is a PG 13 which is rare for a killer doll film (normally they would be rated R), but M3gan breaks this tradition and it feel more ground breaking for the horror/sci fi film. It's not all about drugs, sex, gore or vulgar language that most horror flick shouldn't be, it's about balancing the story that makes it work. This mostly was enjoyable to say the least, it was more of a thriller. I just love the character M3gan to bits (hope it's not too late to make her feel good in the sequel to give her a better protocol and to fix an exploding circuit). It's not a scary movie, but M3gan was a cinnamon roll who carried the film until the very end.

But the thing I didn't like is that there is no explanation what made her kill people. Every horror movie has a backstory Chucky became a killer doll because his real body was dying and bleeding out. Buddi started killing because after watching Chainsaw Massacre he thought killing makes Andy happy Megan was so uncaring and just decided to kill anyone who harms her friend. But there is no reason why?

Buddi didn't kill because of the Texas Chainsaw movie lol in the beginning of the movie you can see the employee who made the doll delete all safety protocols in the doll cause his boss was a dick to him lol. Rumor is they quickly cut the movie to PG13 because the dance went viral all over the world. I could tell that there was a lot more to the pressure washer kill though and I hope we get that unrated version.

It's actually confirmed the scene with Brandon was supposed to be a (sa) scene but they cut it out cause of the rating plus when Megan scans Brandon his malice was at 90% meaning he was obv gonna do something to Cady and even the other kid didn't wanna be with him so they know

I do have a theory that the reason why brandon behaves like that is because he possibly had a father who always mistreats brandon's mother. So brandon grew up into believing that this is how girls should be treated, which explains that he also disrespects his mother by not just calling her by her name but also telling her to f*ck off. I even think that the reason why his mom didn't even reacted mad or tried to scold him is because deep down she is scared of him and doesn't have courage to stand up to him or discipline him, and if she did then i'm sure brandon would've told his father and possibly even lie that his mom hit him just to make his father get angry at her. And let's not forget when he told megan "so you don't want to play with me?... i don't care." Like that is totally something that a rapist would say if somebody refuses to have sex, so yea, i totally agree with you that brandon had this creepy rapist behavior.

Omg, I totally forgot about Hit Clips until you mentioned it. Brings back so many memories! The unrated version on M3gan is on Peacock now. It isn't much different but it has more gore and cussing in it. I really loved this movie. Can't wait for the second one!

Saw this in the theater and as a fan of The Chucky franchise I was happy to have another killer doll and yeah the PG-13 rating was a little jarring at places but it still told a fun story and I don't think the rating needed to be higher.

Crazy that since the 80s we've kept making movies about AI malfunctioning and killing everyone...but scientists keep pushing the envelope. Like..those are just movies, M3GAN won't really kill us all 🤣

To be fair, A.I. going rouge and killing people sells movies a lot more than A.I. being civilized. Truth is, we just don't know how A.I. will turn out but it's on its way because we'll continue to create it because of the massive benefits it can offer even if there are risks. Personally, if they are going to do A.I. I think it would be wise for them to make sure it's on an individual basis, where it can't interconnect with others, where it could interact or control over machines, basically, A.I. done in a way where it basically learns like we do. If A.I. has the capabilities of interconnecting and rewriting others by remote, it's easy to see how badly and how quickly that can go wrong, whereas is A.I. is kept on an individual basis, it should be easier to contain if things get out of hand. Personally, I think the human race is dumb enough that we would allow it to interconnect with pretty much everything whiles allowing it read and write code of other A.I. or machine, that's when humans can quickly lose control.

No context, no compassion, and no second guessing. Think scientists disregard these red flags because of ego, they want to be the first...going to suck if their need for ego stroking causes the end of humanity

@@paul1979uk2000 I agree with that, think the issue is they're connecting them to the internet where the entirety of human knowledge exists and they can learn at an exponential rate. I read a few years ago that the algorithms currently running AI aren't understood by the people who created them initially... because they wrote the base code with the capability to rewrite and correct it. So the current version isn't understood by them because it's already too complex. Whether that's really true or not who knows, doesnt make it any less scary either way though lol. You ever read the books of Dune? It's what Star Wars, Terminator, and practically every AI sci Fi story comes from. AI took over their world, they had to fight against it, eventually won and they made it illegal to produce thinking machines of any kind. They still made technology, just didn't have the ability to think. Feel like that's the route we should be going, not making stuff that thinks on its own. We haven't even figured out the human brain...but we want to make brains that are a million times more powerful...crazy lol

As much fun and love I have with this movie the fact it was Rated R and got turned into a PG-13 movie was disappointing all the carnage ripped away from us horror fans who like to see gory kills. Like the pressure washer kill, those things really hurt when they make contact with the skin so that woman’s face was getting torn up especially with the chemicals that was creative and looked like it was gonna be the goriest kill of the movie but the rating took that out sadly. There’s rumors of an unrated version when it officially comes to streaming so I hope that’s true.

Great reaction here -- it is just campy fun, even with the kills toned down. I've never enjoyed cringe factor so much. Part of the writers strike in Hollywood is about the use of AI for script writing, and AI generated actors. I am sure they are using it to write advertisements, and selecting what ads you see on your screen, based on your usage. Could be as big a threat as was comically presented here.

Just remember that this is a PG13 recut of a movie that was originally meant to be R-rated … but simply had to be recut after the original trailer went viral and the studio realised what a nugget of gold they had in their hands ;)

Considering that most of it was filmed here in New Zealand, from a Kiwi director, and the actress who provided the creepy movements and that amazing dance is also a Kiwi (who is also a Gymnast, dancer ans I believe a Brown Belt in Karate), it is doing so well for a NZ movie.
