Bridgestone T32 Review at 6,000 miles. How does it compare to the Michelin Road 5? Yamaha MT10

Which only goes to prove motorcycling is not the cheap transport it was in the 60s when I was an apprentice! I've had Michelins since I wore out the OE Bridgestones. Just cause they last longer. The originals had heaps of feel which made them good to get used to the MT10 but the Michelins have the harder rubber in the centre giving a more even wear with the side tread. You will not be disappointed.

Tyres where never cheap, in 1989 I paid 12000 BFr for two tyres, that's 300 €. 24 years ago was a lot of money. The bike was a Yamaha FZR 1000 Exup, still have that bike.

Carol loves the Road 6s so thought I would try them, so far they feel great. Unfortunately it's not a cheap game motorcycle tyres, especially Carol needing a new rear as well.

I’m also a fan of Bridgestone t32, recently I’ve noticed the bump on the tyre front and rear… and I’ve put 18km (11k miles) on them, the tread looks exactly like yours at the moment. Indeed a great tyre and long lasting tyre I had so far.

I had the T32's on my Triumph Sprint, loved them, the grip was incredible, felt really confident throwing it around the bends. Price wise you can't argue with the T32's in my opinion, but the Road 6's are getting some great reviews. Gutted about Carol's puncture (was a good video though). I am using T32 myself, I think I did 16k km on it and I love those tires, for the price they are awesome, never felt bad on them, drove gravel, wet, cold, super hot. Wear is great on rear, but the front started cupping, but could be due to my forks. I am thinking of replacing front and keep on riding the rear and then replace the rear as well.

I have found the Dunlop Roadsmart 4s are an absolutely superb sports touring tyre. Absolute precision handling and confidence inspiring in wet and dry conditions. And long lasting and very durable. Takes corners on twisty roads comfortably with ease. Even while they may be a a little bit less expensive than the Michellin Road 6s, I have read reviews that puts them on a par with the Michellin Road 6 tyres, and is even been said to have slightly better handling by some reviewers. I have read that the longevity on the front tyres of the T32, is not as good as other tyres like the Roadsmart 4s and Road 6s. Obviously you did not find that this was the case.

I think so much depends on rider style and weight. It's very difficult to define what tyre is best. For me it's the feeling of confidence but obviously I want them to last a reasonable amount of time. I've not tried the Dunlop yet

I have heard guys going through a set of sports touring tyres at just on 5000 KMs ( 3106 miles!) These guys must be riding their bikes like they are on the track, full throttle with fast acceleration and hard braking. Lol

I remember wearing the original Bridgestone S22s out in 2.5K so I wasn't doing that again. The T32 were much better for my slower style of riding and so far the R6s feel great

I’m a Bridgestone fan. I’m running T31 on VFR and S22 on Street Trip atm. Can’t fault them for what I want esp the S22. Bridgestone seem a little bit out of vogue compared to Michelin and the Pirelli/Metz offerings, but they make great tyres.

Had S22s on my MT10. Great tyres but the rear was shot at 2.5k! Bridgestone definitely make some great tyres

I always have Bridgestone on my FZ1 Fazer, always liked them. On the Trident I have road 5. I never liked Pirelli and Continental. The Mash Xride has Dunlop Mutant on now, changed right from new, don't go of road.

So many Adventure style bikes arrive with semi off road rubber. Road tyres are probably best suited for most folks but the block tyres add to the adventure look.

I bought the Bridgestone T32 for my 2019 Speed triple RS 1050 in the last month and found a local bike garage to fit to loose wheels , baring in mind my rear is a 190 which are a little more to buy, so the tyres delivered to me was £295 in total and £15 to fit to loose wheels and the garage would have been £30 if I rode in for him to do the full amount of work to fit them, so you might be able to save depending where you live etc, but for now I'm very impressed with the dry handling and if I can get 6k miles out of them I'll be very happy. I am a fan of the Metzeler Roadtec 01 SE on my Honda. Super confident on all roads and weather. Lasted about the same 7,000 miles with heavy cornering. For super sticky I prefer the Battlax S22 but for the money they don't last long enough. Sharp looking ride. Enjoy.

Nice to know about the Bridgestone T32 as an alternative to the Michelin Road 6s. As you know I love the Michelin Road 6s and have put them on four bikes and plan fitting them on one more bike probably next year.

Yep for us the most important accessory you can buy for your bike are tyres. Difficult to fault these Bridgestone T32s but interested to try the Michelin

Thanks for giving us an honest review of tyres, it's very helpful to those of us needing a change. I'm predominantly a Michelin or Pirelli fan although Metzeler's seem good also. It's Bridgestone Battlax S22's which are fitted OEM to the ZZR. At first I had reasonable confidence in them even in the wet but then as the weather turned colder the rear gave a bit of a slip. It happened again recently on a hot day admittedly with damp roads, perhaps it was just something on the road at the time? I don't think OEM tyres are of the same standard as " official" branded. Hope you're both enjoying your time in Europe and getting better weather than we are currently getting here.

My MT10 came with S22 fitted as stock. Liked them but wore the rear out in 2.5K! On way back from a blazing hot Alps trip now. Had mostly dry weather not looking forward to landing back in the UK.

Thank you for your thoughts on this one, I will need a pair on mine before I go to Scotland in September, my last 3 changes have all been with the Bridgestone BT023 tyres. Usually I will have a pair, then a rear then a pair again. I tried a Continental on one of the others but did not like how it felt when cornering, so little confidence. Most of the smaller bikes are on Avon tyres as they were cheap and did not need to be performance type tyres. Although I think they've stopped making them now. All the best to you both.

I've had Bridgestones on my bikes for many years now (probably over 30 years) and although I have tried other bikes with other makes of tyres, I still always go for Bridgestone and have S21s on my MT10 currently. I find they give great feel and at the limit, they are progressive with no nasty snap loss of grip. They are good on the brakes on the MT10, providing you reduce the standard front fork compression damping just a little. Be interested to know where you're off to in Europe, as I'm off in 3 weeks and am competing in a Hillclimb in Switzerland with one of my Sunbeams! Enjoy your trip.

I’ve always gone for premium rubber until this last year where I decided to try Pirelli’s Angel GT tyres, they’re around £200 a pair and return around 7-8k miles on my tracer 900 with a heavy hand. Generally I’ve been quite happy with them. Although there’s been a couple seat pinching moments on less than ideal road surfaces. 😅 might be worth a look!

My OEM T32s lasted only about 2700miles. Tracer 9gt (basically a MT09 with 70 pounds of touring gear) ...It was easy to lean all the way to edge on the rear I had been running roadsmart 4s which lasted at least 500miles longer but cost more and and apprently were not as confidence inspiring as I always had a "chicken stripe" initially quite wide but finally got down to about 1/8"....not that it matters I'm just saying there is something about the T32s that make it easier to lean farther. I Just bought my first of T32s since the ones that came on the bike and they are pleasantly cheaper than some other brands I paid $320 after $60 rebate delivered to my door tax and all making them the cheapest tires I have purchased since buying the Tracer 9gt in June of 2022....I actually spent nearly $600 on one pair of Dunlop after they upsold me balancing beads and angle air valves along with labor since wheels were on the bike....so now I ihave my own machine and balance stand! No more 2 hour round trip journies to be financially molested! lol

You know I'm not sure OE tyres supplied on new bikes are the same quality as the over the counter ones available to purchase. I'm really surprised you only got 2700 miles. It will be interesting to see how the new ones go. I would have thought my MT10 and a very heavy 6ft 3 rider would have worn tyres quicker than a Tracer 9. Anyway, thanks for sharing your experience and the comments. All adds to the information out there for others.

That's actually pretty good that the front is evenly warn. They might have softened the front compound and taken advantage of the lesser wear.

6K is kinda of disappointing I noticed the wearing on the top of the back wheel . I got around 10K with no problem on the T30 back tire

Wow! The trouble I have in my area is finding a tyre fitter. Have you ever considered bringing the wheels to your fitter loose? You could save some money! Good luck with your new rubber! I may stick some road 6’s on my GSA next time!

I guess we could save a little by taking the wheels in but we like the guys there, they do it day in day out and will inform you if they spot anything like over worn chains, wheel bearings and the like. Also they are only 20 mins away, always have stock and you can just turn up if you have a problem.

Ive never owned a pair of Michelin Road tyres for any of my bikes. I tried getting some for my XR last year but sadly there was a shortage in the tyre world. I was recommended by BMW motorad in Manchester Avon Spirit ST's. After some research online it seemed they were better than the road 5's (6's weren't out at the time). Needless to say I'm only my 4th set of Avons as they are brilliant in the rain and epic in the dry. Also they were £40 cheaper that the road 6's. Fasty-Rides

Think it's finding something that gives you confidence in the corners, wet or dry. I would be happy to have the T32 again but super enjoying the Michelin Road 6 on my MT10 (got Road 5s on my XSR900) and they seem very similar. Is it worth the extra for the 6's????

That is some good mileage from the T32's. I have generally always had a good experience from Michelin tyres, the Road 5 was great on my 765, and have the Pilot Power on my Gixer

Crickey you pair like spending your dosh , I buy my tyres on line then take my wheels in to R&J in coalville to have them fitted & balanced at £15. a tire and I dispose of the old tyres. I would say your going to love the Michelins big time, let us know how you get on. Ian.

I get it that there's cheaper ways to do it but this is the easy way and I'm not that handy with the spanners + that rear wheel spinal nut has a stupidly high torque setting. Being testing the 6s this week on tour. Feeling good so far

Most bike shops charge way more than £15 to swap loose tyres from old to new including balancing. My local place charges £40 per wheel!

But got a really good deal on them including half price fitting and £30 cash back from Michelin. Of all the tyres, the Road 6 is the one I like the "look" of (tread pattern, all the sipes) the least to be honest. But I'm a function before form type of guy, so...

@user-hy9rd9qp6x I like them. I'm probably not the person to ask about their high-speed track day like performance, but general road riding and some spirited riding, I couldn't unsettle them. A look at our recent very wet Pyrenees tour vids will show they are excellent in the wet. Mrs has them on her Street Triple as well. I would err Michelin, but they were expensive. The T32 are very good.

@@Banditmanuk When I came back to biking 20+ years ago they were the tyre of choice, Michelin seems to be the go to now. I liked Conti Trail Attacks on GSs but my Multi uses Pirelli’s Trails which I like. I really should just pick a good ST tyre as I never go off road😆, well by choice anyway.

Thx. Confirmed my thoughts on the T32. Think your not gonna like the road 6. It's less usable in wet. Shape is more sport than tour looking at the 5 as comparison. It's not so much a successor.

Interesting. I'm surprised you don't buy your tyres mail order and fit and balance them yourselves? You would soon recover the cost of the tyre changer and balancing stand. I'm going with Pirelli Angel GTs this time around on my VFR800 as I simply cannot afford the price of Michelin Road 5s or 6s at the moment nor this Bridgestone T32 even though they are slightly cheaper.

With respect i wouldn't be happy with that wearing out in 6,000 miles.,especially as they aren't cheap..I'm going to be trying the pirelli angel gt,s ...ps I tried road six on a friend's bike and the have a really steep profile and feel like the bike will fall over way to quick ,very dodgy handling tyre .

I've had the Angel GT's on my MT10. Good tyre but only lasted a similar amount of time. Currently running Road 6 and they are my favourite. Interesting how others view tyres. Wife is also on 6s and loves them

@Banditmanuk is your bike a heavy bike, and are you doing long stints on the centre of the tyre?..how is your suspension set up because obviously that could have a effect on the tyre's to..just a few things to consider when it comes to tyre wear.

@Banditmanuk I did look the t32 but they are expensive, the Michelin are to,, but I was put off them when I rode a gsxr 1000 with them on..I looked at avon spirit st,, but was put off when reading reports of instability on them in certain situations..looked at lots of videos on lots of different tyres and plumped on the gt, over the St older version,, hopefully there be OK as tyres aren't cheap and il be putting on chain and sprockets to,, so certainly not cheap, and I will have to certainly clean the chain and sprockets every other ride because they ain't cheap either.

@Banditmanuk yes that would certainly have a bearing on how the bike behaves and how the tyres behave, and that's not taking into account so many different factors like road surfaces and riding styles and weather and road conditions, so many variables on tyre wear. But thanks. But alot of power on your bike so you must be a pretty good rider to handle that, I have a first generation rsv1000 mille and that does me,, I upgraded from a kawasaki 636 a1 p ..so a big difference, but enjoyable.
