Thanks for your review; I too have tried other tires on my GL1800 but have like the Bridgestone best, for all the reasons you stated. I typically get 13-15k on a set of these. Interestingly, the owner's manual for the 2013-2017 model now specifies only the Bridgestone G704/G709 tires; the Dunlop was dropped. This Bridgestone tire was designed specifically for the GL1800. Thanks again.

Bar None, this is my favorite tire on a GL1800. I have ridden every tire rated for a Goldwing and this tire turns in the quickest and has the best feel. Additionally, I can RAIL this tire and still get 15k to 20k out of a rear tire... and the front tire still has 1/3rd left to go. Great tires!

I used Dunlop elite but I switched to the Bridgestone G704 / G709 exedra and feel much safer, especially on wet roads (35000KM on a set)in the Netherlands = good roads high speed up to 140km/h

Exactly the reason I switched. I had E-3's and they felt straight up dangerous. They were also quite loud

Have tried every tire in past 18 years on GL1800. Exedra Max good, except less power due to larger rear tire diameter. Still liked them overall. HOWEVER, rear tire past wear bars at 5,000 miles!!!! Least mileage of any I have tried.

Hey Dennis, thanks for leaving your comment. In our experience it's very unusual to experience wear on Bridgestone Tires that quickly. Everyone we know who run these tires average over 10k miles, so if your rear tire is past the wear bars at 5,000 miles I wonder If there is something else going on. We personally prefer the Bridgestone tires because they're stickier and softer which makes for a nicer ride. We also strongly suggest to all our customers that they add Centramatics if you haven't already. It really helps to wear your tires evenly and increase tire life 35-50%.. I hope this helps!

12 or 13k on a set of Bridgestone??? OMG, I get double that on Dunlop E3's and my 2012 runs great on them!

Only 6K miles and already down to the cords on the rear @ 41psi. It also feels kind of mushy in the sweepers fully loaded. I'd be ecstatic with 10K miles. It needs a harder compound in the center imho.

If longevity is your goal, the Excedras may not be for you. If handling, safety, and quiet comfort is your goal, you can't do any better. Softer compounds grip better by design but wont last as long. If you want longevity you need a harder compound which, by design, will never be as sticky as a softer compound. Everything is a compromise. I'll keep my stones. Safe travels to all my brothers and sisters out there!

I’m going to take your advice just ordered a set! I wanted to get the back off LED license plate frame in black but they were sold out! I think you’re right it’s give and take Most of my riding is ripping around town and have other motorcycles so I might only put 2500 on a year! This is a big heavy bike and I know some have tried car tires and like them! Enjoy.

I do like the tire but I am getting no where near the mileage you suggest, This is my 2nd sent of these tires, and they both went defective at 6K the first time then these tires now just turned 8K and the back tire is wobbling again and that was the sign that happened to the last rear tire??? I am a nut about tire pressure.. I run 37 in front and 41 in rear. we do not ride straight roads, Hill country in Texas and the roads are rough and I do have a heavy Right hand but I think that mileage is horrible. I am think about a different tire?

Hello Barry, thank you for reaching out to us with your issue. It's very unusual to only get 6-8k miles on Bridgestone Tires. Everyone we know who run these tires average over 10k miles, so if you are only getting 6-8k there must be something else going on. We personally prefer the Bridgestone tires because they're stickier and softer which makes for a nicer ride. But maybe you consider the Dunlop Elite 4 tires, which will give you a bit more mileage because they're made of a stiffer compound. We also strongly suggest you add Centramatics if you haven't already. It really helps to wear your tires evenly and increase tire life 35-50%.. Best of luck and let us know what you decide to do.
