One of the most stunning renditions of Bach I have ever heard - you can tell this is an immensely gifted harpist who is completely in tune with he music she is making inside her soul. Absolutely stunning rendition.

Yes! Immortal music made new by our remarkable Bridgett.
@nicholasyasillo12424 жыл бұрын
@@phoebelinden9602 Made new indeed. However the concert harp has the percussive attack and smooth, long decay of the harpsichord that Bach must have had in mind when he wrote the Toccata and Fugue. He undoubtedly knew this would be played not only on the organ, so one might imagine that "new" is really "old" in some corner of the mind of the genus composer. He has, on occasion, been called "Bach the Transcriber".

Starting my day off with this piece and this heavenly arrangement and performance. Wow! The sound and acoustics are incredibly warm and vibrant as well. And as many times as I've heard Bach's Toccata and Fugue in D Minor, the harp allows many more textures and layers to cover me as I listen to it. Kudos Bridget.

I feel this is the BEST way one can render this music!! on an instrument that isn’t very giving on the dynamic range span and muting ease, you make us totally unaware of such limitations! And (something rather rare...) your feeling is pure and thus very moving.

Hello! It's beautiful! Can you give me the sheet music? Please
@bridgetkibbey4 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much! I'd love to encourage you to make your own! I think it's fantastic how we all have a different take on transcribing, and I find that process of making our own transcriptions helps us connect to the music on a deeper level. So I haven't released my version for this reason. Best wishes to you!

Wonderful rendition. But next time could you dress as a buxom vampire ?
@Little99Kitten7 жыл бұрын
This is really impressive, and your technique is astounding, but I think it's too fast. Just because you can play this fast, doesn't mean you should. I think it takes away the character of the piece, and the listener doesn't have enough time to process everything that's going on. But hey, to each their own!
@bridgetkibbey7 жыл бұрын
Dear Rosie, thank you for your transparency and thoughts! In my adaptation of this work, I wanted to convey the potential of a harp, as "delicate" as its viewed, to communicate the drama associated with the work- usually performed on a massive organ filling a cavernous cathedral. To me, these lines and emotional heat came with these tempi, and I'm so very proud of it- but yes, to each their own! You might find the Harpsichord Concerto I posted last week, BWV 1056, to be more to your liking, in form and tempo. All best wishes, Bridget
