The internet has enabled access to these pearls that the cultural industry do not show because they are not very commercial; although it has undeniable artistic and historical value.

The sweet spot between Nico, Nick Drake and Vashti Bunyan. Amazing

Sorry 8 years late… but yes, there is so much Nick Drake in Bridget or so much Bridget in Nick, not sure which is which. Sublime performance and her French is great!

Yes! I was thinking Nico at first then thought Nico meets Nick Drake. (sort of) She's wonderful whatever it may be

Bridget was such a favorite of mine back then, I saw her many times in the late sixties and early seventies, and talked with her a couple of times, I still play her albums and get so much enjoyment from her songs, singing and playing. It is time she got the exposure and media support so many lesser artists of those days get now.

I just found Bridget St. John and agree, she is amazing. I also want to mention that the camera work, the sound and the setting put me in that club for moments at a time. Remarkable.

Have loved Bridget's music since I bought Ask Me No Questions when it came out in 1969. Stunning songs, so gentle, so strong.

God bless Bridget for all she gave the world - for all she gave to us damaged and solitary souls - back then.

I was at university (Sheffield) with her long before this was filmed so it brings back great memories - she was studying French - as you might guess...

after 40 years still my favorite folk-rock female singer with Nico, the male one being Peter Hammill and Arthur Lee (or Brian Mc Lean ?)

Something about the guitar rhythm and the held notes singing reminds me of Paul Stookey's 'Wedding Song.' They both come with a spiritual depth, like a rite you're part of once you listen.

Thanks for the video.... Her voice is stunning. Just one thing, I think the second song is not Broken Faith but "Like never before" ... or am I wrong?

Does anyone know the tuning for "Like Never Before"?
@RogerMock544 жыл бұрын
4 years late on this, but it's DADGAD capo 6. Start with a normal C chord fingering, which becomes C9 in the tuning, then to 33020x for an F6 chord.

She doesn't look unlike Carly Simon (or vice versa) at the same age.
