GDP has traditionally been used to measure how well a country is faring. This has led many politicians to prioritise economic growth. However, there is growing recognition that economic growth is not enough to measure a country's well-being. Now's there's momentum around the world for policies targeted at "gross national happiness".
However, how is "happiness" attained and can all countries be as successful as Denmark, which tops the list of the happiest countries in the world? Should the pursuit of happiness take precedence over the pursuit of economic growth?
