I'm from the UK and can't get enough of the old AMT car kits!

I agree, all the AMT kits are really good with high quality parts. I think the latest car kit I have from AMT is CHRISTINE. The Plymouth beauty featured in the movie.

I can remember in 1971 we got a u.h.f. converter those that are old enough to remember t.v. sets had a manual know to turn to change the channels I lived in Boston and I was about 7 years old when my father came home with the u.h.f converter it was a metal box a little bigger than what direct t.v. gave us and hooked up to the television it had it's own antenna witch looked like a hoop and then if your t.v. was new enough it had a set of extra screws that a piece of flat ribbon looking plastic tape with two conductors that took the sighnal from your antenna on the roof my grandfather had a roor Arial as we called them if you saw it there was a rod about 3 quarters of and inch and all these shinny rod cane out or it my grand father's had a motor at the base and a separate electric wire ran down to there apartment it was a box about 2 inches high made of metal and on top was a clear dial it had symbols like a compas north south east west and he had the first color t.v. I ever saw it was what was called a console witch ment it was made like a cabinet of plywood then a thin piece of oak or some other nice wood was bonded on with a contact adhesive was placed on the box and the thin laminate when it died to a point where it was just tacky they had one shot because when it made contact there was know getting it apart but back to the antenna if you turn the know near east or wes

That Lunchbox is really cool, is it still available anywhere?
@TrekFanNCC-17012 жыл бұрын
They’re getting harder to find, but you can still find them on eBay.

I'd love to build all 13 ships or 15 if you want to include the Kongo and Valiant from the old AMT kits.

That would be nice. =^>

West South the know would light up and it would click until the antenna was in position the light went out and hopefully your picture was clearer there where only three stations in Boston and they where affiliated with a country wide network CBS ABC and NBC and channel two was our public broad casting channell when u.h.f. came along the newer t.vs would have a place on the back of the set to hook up the box that's when I got a chance to see syndication local stations I think we had four available and you turn the t.v.s know two channel 3 then star trek was on channel 56 the dial was like a volume know iy didn't click you would turn it towards the channel you wanted until you got close then put the hoop antenna back and fourth until your sound and picture where close but those where reruns as we called them and it gave shows that made at least 3 seasons a second chance and gave me and others who where just walking when it was on the network everyone in school would be talking about the night before episode it may seem like the special effects where bad but for us they seemed awsome the ship looked cool and in 72 the model department at childworld on of the biggest toy stores had plastic model kits came out I saw it ran home asked my mother and took a butter knife to my piggyback and it w a s the first plastic model I ever built and it c a me out terrible

I remember those old TV antennas well. The rotary dial, once turned would blink and click towards the setting. I also remember the UHF channel 56. That is where I was introduced to Creature Feature and Godzilla. I also messed up many a star trek model my friend. =-)
