The thing is, the ancient people wrote about these gods and heroes like they were real people they saw. Makes you wonder, there must be truth to some of these gods and heroes.

Actually yes. Half of them comes.before.the deatruction of 9600 bcr. They were real people, but they used them as an example. So they made them gods with small g "gods" which in Greek means "θέον" from "running very fast". So, when they died, these examples of people became gods as an wxample of where the human should reach his level. And there were not 12, 13, 15, they were thousands of them. Odysseus was a clever one. So, they gave him goddess Athena to protrct him because of his smartness and wisdom. Palamedes was from the genealogical tree of the real Poseidon. So they called him the son of Poseidon, because he was cunning general, great warrior, kids nd man and best friend of Achilles, Ajax and Patroclus and the most trusted one among the Acheans. Achilles was strong, he was an wxcellent warrior. Perfect strategist, he loved Polyxene "Πολυξένη" (granddaughter of Priam the 2nd), he supported Briseis, because she was a good and kind girl and he understood her correctly, he he had above everything else his family which it was his wife "Διαδιάνη" and his son Neoptolemus and all the acheans had him as his leader and they followed mostly him instead of Agamemnon and Menelaus. The majority of the stories of the gods are mostly alegories of either real thought, or real events that happened, but writters added them to awe the readers

Greek here, your video is very good you pronounce the names and spell them well there's just a bit of inaccuracies in the video when Herakles had to bring back the Cerynitian Hind and the Erymanthian boar back to King Eurystheus and you didn't mention Herakles' cousin Theseus stopping him from jumping off a mountain after the death of his family. Very solid story non the less
