Those are great engines. I have one in shop I rebuilt for father in-law in 1970 for cement mixer, he sold machine but kept the rebuilt engine I turned it over several times and the cly oil is still in it- stp

Wish I could help you my Dad repair them in his shop where I worked and rebuilt lots of them I need a garden tractor to put my engine on , has new crank rod piston and ballbrg plus cam. Old stuff in wooden box

I don't know for sure but I saw were you had your main bearing with the open side should the open side go toward in order to get oil and seal part outside?
