Very Light Tackle off the Rocks!

The only gripe I have with this reel is the weight, but that goes with the size of the reel kzbin.infoUgkxM68VkfsQhHaabDce1IwOCXuvumcpbZ_k . I brought this salmon fishing up in Oswego, NY. I coupled it with a Cabela's Whuppin Stick. I had no problem pulling in a 14lb salmon. I will probably use this for surf fishing this summer and downgrade to a 3500 series Battle II next salmon season to save my wrists. All of the operations are butter smooth and the bail is nice and thick and has a solid flip to it. Everything about this reel is sturdy and strong. The drag system held up to the salmon and was also super smooth. I did use a scale to set the drag properly before going out to the river and this worked out tremendously. A bunch of other guys on the river would hook up and snap almost immediately. Just because you have a good drag system doesn't do anything if you don't set it correctly.

I love this lure weight class. I generally use a 7ft medium rod, with a 40 size reel. 12lb line. I have recently been having some good success. Over 50 saltwater species landed on lure!!!

Fyi If you ever have body pain Walk bearfoot on rocks Re estimate body pain after a few minutes a couple times. If you have a lot of pain it can be very sore. Sometimes just wearing socks and doing it can bring your body pain down 70% Please try it: and pass this idea on. Foot acupuncture is quite effective I like 1 inch yard rocks but most anything similar can do

Hi Mate, Fishhead is the main shop and distributor for FCL in Aus (if he’s low im not sure where else would have em!). I think he gets fresh stock about every 3? Months. Best thing to do is follow fishhead on Instagram etc. and he should do a post when stock comes back in. You could also send duncan an email and ask when they’ll get fresh FCL stock 👍

What would you recommend for a PE 4-6 popper rod

Hi Mate, I like the spartan rods and have thrown poppers on the SPARTAN S74-4/6 model for GT out of a boat but in general if i'm using PE4-6 it's going to be for Pelagics and i'll be using lighter (non popper) lures. If i'm going to throw poppers i'm usually on PE8-10 so pretty much all my popping experience is up in that class lines/rods.
