I was stabbed twice last year by my exschizophrenic best friend.. once he tried to cut a girl that after I had saved and he got me in the liver when he got out of jail, I forgave him , he consumed some drugs during that Time and then stabbed me with a sword then. Tried to run me over twice , I’m thankful to be alive. But wouldn’t. Change my actions. Stay golden my friends

@@dalto15 yes thank you. I'm finally getting out of a learning season in life and have recently been actively growing and working to grow. I love how this video has had nothing but positive feedback and gives me massive hope in believing that creating the right content (authentically yourself) can unite like minded people and people that actually care about each other. Thank you, I appreciate you and your genuine concern and love. How are you doing randomdalto?

This man. I was an arrogant artist. I was a proud artist. I thought I had it. My ex (when she was just one of my best friends) handed me a copy of Lifted right after it was released. I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. I immediately bought it and a 3rd press copy of Fevers and Mirrors (was a very valuable before record store day). I couldn’t write at all for almost a year. I couldn’t believe someone could write so brilliantly. Every word was amazing. I didn’t think I had anything to say after hearing it. My roommate and I used to put that record on (Lifted), smoke, drink, and just get lost in it. He said, “all four sides of this record is it’s own thing, each just building on the last part, probably the best four sided record ever”. Man. I’d love to go back for a day. I can’t believe it’s been 20 years. My god. Where did it go?

These four gentlemen were a very big part of a personal evolution in my early 20's. This is the music that made me the person I am today. A person that I can love. I am forever grateful for the gift that they shared with us. I continue to share it with my kids. Please do the same. May you all find your peace, love, and be loved. ✌️❤️

First day of my life never fails to make me cry. it reminds me of the first time I ever bought a dress. I remember walking home, just bought my very first little black dress, listening to music on random and first day of my life played and I had to stop walking because it made me cry. As a trans person, having my first dress was like liberation for me. it was indeed the first day of my life as me :')

"i know you have a heavy heart I can feel it when we kiss so many men before me have thrown their backs out back trying to lift it but me I'm not a gamble you can count on me to split" is still the most beautiful and ingenious lyric ever written over 10 years later

Mine change. Like every time I hear his songs but something about this performance is pure magic. I try to let even the subtle lyrics have infinite new meanings for the future beholds, things can can always be looked new. For example I’ve listened to this performance. Over 1,000 times for sure, yet only until a friend pointed out two weeks ago that he hugs himself in between songs. I close my eyes a lot when I listen, so that’s why I never noticed it. Idk, it made me shed a tear or two.

Hearing Wide Awake songs mixed in with earlier tunes is always striking to me. The other songs are great, but that record was such a leap in artistic maturity for Conor that it’s like hearing songs written by two different men.

I dunno, I feel like Wide awake was the beginning of a different chapter, much more polished but I don't think better. I love the early songs before he got too slick 🤣 I guess I'd be the opposite of you... I like his later stuff, but the early songs were so raw and passionate! True artistry :)

The only conor/bright eyes song from before wide awake that they play in this set is waste of paint, which is an absolute banger and completely holds up to the wide awake/digital ash era songwriting. Edit: oh and going for the gold, which I agree is pretty soft.

I love their music and the life that pours through it more than any other form of music (next to Chopin, maybe). Anywho, many thanks for uploading this again, esp. in 2020. Love all the way from South Africa. PS Do check out their new NPR Tiny Desk performance - soooo good!

Wow ! Thank you! first day of my life was my first life saver. the depth of lhis emotions man. that song is super simple but i saw it as a way to look at each new day as the first day o my life. i get frustrated with people, romantic partners who start liking the song and think that i am talking about them. and at the very core essence of it, im listening to thinking about how ive been my own best friend in so many crucial moments!! i am glad i have me. i was unaware they had a new one. im starting it up as soon as i press send reply. lol Im going to check out chopin. i know of him, but im going to dive into some stuff and i seem to like the same things as other fans of conor

Hell yeah, brother. You tell ‘em. Nothing beats that pre-Obama era. Shocking to see how from the early-2000s on through to now, we somehow ended up closer in time to 1963 than we possibly could have dreamed back 20 years ago. Those where the halcyon days right there. Agreed all around.
