Celio Hogane Not as sad as Eobard Thawne. What with his history of time travelling, a different dead version of him was reincarnated in Blackest Night (while the present-day version was still in jail) and accidentally freed his enemy, Flash, from the Speed Force while trying to kill him. When the white lantern gives the 12 reborn their directives, it just tells him "Mission Accomplished, nothing for you to do" and left him rotting in jail. vignette1.wikia.nocookie.net/greenlantern/images/6/69/White_Lantern_Corps-1.jpg lmfao get fucked, Eobard.

I guess it is saying that things don't just happen without consequence. Yes Entity has the power to revive but it still has to work withing the laws of the universe it is given.

nwatson65 That loses some weight when you realize that the laws of the universe are literally anything the author says it is, and the only reason it "can't be done" is because they didn't *want* to do it that way.

Read and finished the comic just recently. And yes while it's confusing but not as much if you know some of DC's myths and followed the previous arc Blackest Night. It's mostly about piecing some puzzles together. Like tying up the lose ends and enforcing Earth against future threat such as the Black Lanterns. To detail, experiencing "life", as in whatever makes the selected ones feel lively, like experiencing joy with a dear one, eating a favorite food, even pains of losses or fighting for own life. These help power the life entity. Other stuff are doing chores like restoring balance which was damaged by the aforementioned Blackest Night's events, and preventing future threats to it. Finally some of the WLs were swiped away to be the elemental guardians for the newly formed Swamp Thing, and destroy the old vessel which was corrupted and possessed by Nekron. The ending still leave a lot of questions, I admit.

I was thinking, since we have black and white Lanterns, there should be gray Lanterns. I know it's been overdone and it's even a meme now, but hear me out. The Gray Lantern is powered by Indifference. They feel absolutely nothing and thus are immune to all the other corps powers. Once the ring is put on, the only goal of the user is to survive. So basically if the user has to wipe out half a planet full of kittens to keep living, it will. This might sometimes leave them sided with the villains as they might have the advantage. The only thing limiting them is they are few in number (hopefully one of them is a android or something :>).

I jumped onto comics during Blackest Night and was curious how Brightest Day was going to turn out. Sadly, I have to say this event was a mess. Story was convoluted with the Entity jerking people around for some vague master plan. Disjoint missions that hardly tie in with this master plan. Ridiculous elemental conditions that come out of nowhere. Reviving only twelve characters was extremely limiting in scope compared to the thousands revived in Blackest Night. Pacing was sloppy with the first third all set up. Art was good though. This event was more complicated than it needed to be. It could have been the Entity revives a bunch of people to live and value their lives, and doing so charges its battery. Those that do live life get permanently revived, those that don't go back to death. Each character lives out their own stories, some live it up, others squander it. And in the end, wrap it up with the Entity thanking them for charging its battery, add some lovey dovey thing about enjoying life, Entity exits stage left. Simple.

I enjoyed it a lot and the story was easy to follow. I loved all the struggles the main characters had to face and it honestly contains my favourite Aquaman story ever. I read the Blackest Night and Brightest day, and they are probably my all time favorite story arcs in DC. You tell the story very well and I'm glad I checked out your channel.
@williss115 жыл бұрын
I felt extremely emotional on this one. We see DeadMan like we've never seen him before. Honestly I felt glad he got with Dove. They make a beautiful couple. But we all knew Deadman would stay dead, that's how it's usually is in DC Comics. I was also hugely relief when Mera got with Arthur now that he's alive again and we see how loyal of a wife and husband they are. Unfortunately they're the only ones with a happy ending, so I'm somewhat content that Mera got happy again since we saw her suffer in Darkest Day. But I also can't help but feel angry at the writers. They where brought back to life to only die later? WTF? DeadMan is like the good version of John Constantine. But I can't believe how the Writers f*cked with us lol. You got him back with his gramps, a good girl, his life.. Dam. DeadMan being alive again brought so much potential but it got wasted.

Damn this story was amazing. One of the main reason I love comics, and for the love of all humanity can the fanboys of DC and Marvel just die off. Instead of enjoying both of theses amazing universe. You guys are always making the hero fight each other. Why can't they team up and fight the villains. Like can we get a superhero movie where Marvel and DC team up to fight the villain of each other universe. Like the Avengers teaming up with the justice league to stop a threat that could destroy both universes
@Dylankiwi18 жыл бұрын
lol true true, but Marvel and DC is just rival competition. No ones want either to fail, because it motivates the writer to make better stories. Like Marvel comic was doing really good compared to DC, so the company thought about a strategy of how to compete and be ahead so rebirth was the answer. Rebirth killed it with sales because DC has been making really good stories and cares for its fans. While Marvel comic is doing shit because of civil war 2 but because of DC success marvel probably gonna try make a strategy, to stay ahead of the game. To me it seems like friendly competition like people in marvel want DC movies to successful while people in DC wants Marvel to be successful. By the way i'm a DC fan but to me it seems like friendly competition, some people get obsessed with but most don't.

"All of the other heroes were revived again. Except for Hawkgirl, cos fuck Hawkgirl." Did they really not provide a reason why she had to stay air when all the other elementals were granted life? Seems kinda dickish. Also Captain Boomerang must have some poor self-esteem. He was literally revived to throw one boomerang to kill one person, which btw would have been better done by a gun anyway.

+Deven Gilmore (ShadowB1ade67) I will go on a limb and say that deadman wasn't suppose to die thrice. As you see he did manage to get his hand around it only for it to go through meaning. The only way to "catch" said boomerange was for hawk to jump into the way getting stabbed into the chest dying thus being the sacrifice that Alec Holland needed for a revival. It was a three way option either : Dove, Hawk, or Deadman. In the end Deadman caught the boomerang which is why the lantern said Hawk failed.

I'm starting to REALLY hate The Entity, right now! He's the most sadistic character, since The Joker! It's always the so-called "pure" beings that are the most cruel!

A vastly overlooked event comic, and one of my favourite story formulas for such events: A strange event has happened to a select few heroes, who must figure out just what has happened. That and the classic 'Massive cosmic threat that requires all of earth's heroes to stop it' events are always fun.

I am a bit confused If the Entity needed life to revive Alec Holland thus giving Captain Boomerang a task to throw a boomerang at Dove Then what was the point of Hawk catching it?
@prideguy323310 жыл бұрын
To get over his own rage I think
@joluoto9 жыл бұрын
I think Hawk was supposed to give his life for Dove the way Boston brand did, not try to catch it with his hand. Thus he failed. Hawk returning was actually interesting, since he's a very controversial character (hero turned mad villain).

Well that story sucked. The lantern just gives everyone contradictory objectives and ends in a way that's impossible for all of its commands to be accomplished (telling boomerang to kill dove while telling hawk to save her, meaning one of these had to end in failure), and then leaves hawkgirl dead even though she did what it wanted because fuck you? What was the point in all of this? Nothing was accomplished overall, you could have not had any tie-ins, left the black lanterns as gone after Blackest Night, and it would have ended better and in a more interesting way rather than this bullshit.
@aaronpegany8 жыл бұрын
Exactly, this stupid white lantern was completely unnecessary and meaningless. All he did was show Deadman "the meaning of life" which still didn't make any sense and could've been done in any other way besides this convoluted mess.

Well, while I won't defend some of it (namely the contradictory objectives), the lantern did warn Hawkman and Hawkgirl that they would live happier lives if they were apart. If they separated, then he only needed to take one of their lives, and it would return and they would be reunited again. However, by refusing to separate, it just decided to take both even though it could only return one. At least, that's my theory on the matter.
@lich1098 жыл бұрын
Anime9042 Not happier lives, fuller lives, and who exactly is the entity to decide what is and isn't a happy/full life? Most of this is people being forced into doing what the entity wants them to do because it never gives them a choice and the worst is what happens to Deadman, when the entity simply decides that if you're not outside, apparently your life isn't worth living. In any other story the entity would be the villain and they'd have to fight against its "do what I say or die" policy, as it is this story makes the entity look no better than Necron.
@Anime90428 жыл бұрын
lich109 I never said the entity was nice. And while having a "fuller" life would typically be subjective, I'd say dying within the next 30 seconds over not would constitute having a less-full life.

Wow, this story is so convoluted.... I always enjoyed DC back when I read them (late 80's-early 90's) because the stories were enjoyable, easy to follow, and the characters were the center of the stories. Guess those days are long gone!
