Blimey, I didn't realise that only as far back as 2002 Brighton had SWR and Virgin trains running to it! That bright yellow train near the beginning of the video - that was a thameslink train right? I'm amazed by the number of different print/paint jobs the thameslink/capital connect trains have, as well as the number of rail classes that are operating in this video.

Man I wish cross country ran back to Brighton. Those services were always full of passengers, shame they stopped running.

14 years later, it’s down to just two or three different classes of EMU electrostar 377/387 & class 700s that use Brighton.

Great video and did anyone laughed at that guy who just missed the train? That slam door unit that is just white is a good idea that all trains should be painted white that only has the companies logo on it and when the franchise is up it saves the downtime of repainting it its more likely just to peel off the old companys logo to replace it with the new one.

When Great British Railways take over they will all be repainted in National colours with just the company name placed on the side of the train. Like London Buses now.

I think it’s better to have different liveries as the passengers can identify the trains easier

What route was the southwest trains to Brighton
@abakedslayermcgiles2703 Жыл бұрын
Primarily the Brighton-Reading service, in addition to this there were also Brighton-Basingstoke services initially operated by class 421/423’s and later class 450’s; occasionally an 159 would operate a service to Exeter.

That TPE train is very lost Don't worry. I know it was FGW
@agdenyer3 жыл бұрын
The unit was a Virgin Cross Country service, I can't remember where it went to but it ran for a few years. It arrived mid afternoon and returned about a hour later.

@@agdenyer Cool. I knew FGW took some of the Transpennine 158s but I never thought VTXC did too
@agdenyer3 жыл бұрын
@@jackbarrowclough1739 Sorry I got it wrong, the 158's were borrowed and used on the service to Portsmouth and on to Cardiff I think. The picture that came up with your comment showed I Virgin Cross Country arriving at Brighton, it confused me. Sorry
