Did They Find a Living Megalodon In the Mariana Trench?

Сould Megalodon sharks still be alive in the deepest parts of the ocean? Science tells us that Megalodon sharks are extinct. Given that it was a massive shark with noticeable feeding habits, we guess that if Megalodon sharks were still roaming the oceans, they would probably have been spotted by someone by now. But perhaps not if they lived in the deepest place on Earth: the Mariana Trench.
TIMESTAMPS:
What the name Megalodon means 1:49
Megalodon’s size 3:26
The deepest spot on Earth 4:13
Could Megalodon live in the Mariana Trench 5:00
How many people reached Challenger Deep in the Mariana Trench 6:39
#megalodon #marianatrench #meg
Music: kzbin.info...
SUMMARY:
- The Megalodon shark roamed the oceans as early as 23 million years ago, and we have their fossils to prove their existence. When people first encountered Megalodon teeth, they believed them to be rocks that had made their way to Earth from the moon.
- Megalodon was the biggest shark to terrorize the ocean, and it is thought to have gone extinct 2.6 million years ago. The name Megalodon means “big tooth.” Most of the recovered Megalodon fossil teeth have been 4” to 5”. But there are a few enormous teeth that are over 7”.
- The Mariana Trench is 6.83 miles deep and measures more than 1,500 miles long and 43 miles wide. To put the depth into perspective, if you were to put Mount Everest into the Mariana Trench, the top would still be sticking out. To put the length into perspective, in 1,500 miles you could fit all the states between Florida and Massachusetts. 1,500 miles is also the distance between Madrid, in Spain, and Copenhagen, in Denmark.
- To survive in the Mariana Trench, Megalodon would have had to adapt to the living conditions and evolve. It would also have to switch its diet from whales, dolphins, sea lions, and sea cows to whatever organisms reside in the Mariana Trench and hope that it could find and eat its usual 2,500 lb of food per day.
- According to the United Nations, there are 7.6 billion people in the world today, and only 3 of them have made it to the deepest point on Earth. The reality is that with so little research, it is impossible to know what lies in the depths of the Mariana Trench.

WELL THE MEGALODON IS VERY SCARY BUT THE MARIANA TRENCH AKA Challenger Deep has so much pressure if you end up being there without a high tech ocean divisive you will be crushed in a couple of seconds and the megalodon shark did go extinct 2.6 years ago

I’ve been studying megladons for 5 years now and I’m only 10 and I’ve found something like a pattern in all my research, it’s that people tend to look at the megladon as a huge killing machine but way I like to think of them as is a sea creature who feeds on other creatures to survive but to go from such a massive diet to just a few things a day would make the megladon almost as small as the white shark 🦈. And also it’s not possible to predict what lies beneath our ocean surface giving we haven’t even discovered a quarter for all we can tell there could be a shark 20x the size of the megladon.

I seriously don't understand how people like you honestly believe it still exists simply because it is impossible to 100% disprove that it does. There is absolutely zero evidence they survived till modern days, and from what we know about them they most certainly could not have survived in the Marianas Trench without so much adaptation that it'd just be an entirely new species, and not the gigantic supershark it once was. They died off due to their huge size and not being able to find enough prey, yet people for some reason want to believe they exist in the part of the ocean with the smallest life forms in the most extreme conditions that is not even nearly densely populated enough to support such a predator.

Gavin freeman Vlogs Just because 5% of the ocean deep was explored doesn’t mean the megalodon is alive. Study has shown that a tsunami of cosmic energy from supernova has wiped out ocean animals including the megalodon. If an animal that is the size of a megalodon then we would have known. Plus other animals has fought the megalodon before which made it extinct, and the megalodon need ton of food to survive and it only gone extinct because of climate change as well. So there is no possible way that the megalodon still exist.

We think that Megalodon became extinct because its food source migrated to cooler waters, where the Megalodon cannot survive in temps that low. Generally speaking, the deeper you go, the colder it gets, so its illogical to think that ,if it is alive, its in deep places like the Mariana Trench. And if it is in shallower waters, it would've been spotted by now.

The ocean is a really scary place, some people don't know it though. Imagine being in the middle of an ocean all by yourself, many unknown creatures, your only luck is a search party or a speeding airplane, water all around you that you can't even drink. Imagine.

It amazes me how we did all these thing like go to space and go down the Mariana Trench in the 1960s to the 2000s and now with all this amazing technology we barely hear anything from places like these.

You got one thing wrong, the Mariana Trench is the deepest DISCOVERED part of the ocean, there could be a place that goes far more deep, but how could we know for sure?

Simple Answer: No. Megalodon would be unable to find any food, and would have to feed on the small organisms. Which, a shark that size wouldn't be able to do. Also, the reason most sharks don't dive deep, is because the pressure would collapse their organs and their insides would literally crumble. And judging by remains, Megalodons were related to sharks that can't dive deep. And even if it somehow is able to evolve to be bioluminescent, and somehow survived down there (which is impossible) then it would be way to cold for them! Megalodons lived in warm waters because they would freeze in cold waters. It is *very* cold in the Mariana Trench. Also, they lived near the shore and close to surface all over the world, so you would've found one already. Also, the whale population would drop drastically because of their overhunting. One last thing I have to say is that if Megalodons still existed, then how come we haven't found any fresh teeth? You would think that because a ton of fossilized teeth wash up, a ton of fresh teeth would wahs up as well. (Edit: *M'kay so I made a mistake.* Great Whites didn't evolve from Megalodons. But that's even more proof. Because Great Whites are shown to be able to adapt to colder waters. So if they are two different species, that means they don't have the same traits. So ladies and fricks (You are incredible if you get that reference) that means that Megalodons were most likely (And by that I mean the were) unable to adapt to the cold waters which made them go extinct.)

+Theflips adapting to an environment and growing traits is evolution. However, Megalodons, instead of evolving into a creature that lives in the deep, evolved or adapted into Great Whites because how closely the two are related. This was the natural selection, and this means that if Megalodon were to still exist, it wouldn't have evolved into a creature that lives in the deep.
