BRIGHT SIDE

BRIGHT SIDE

5 жыл бұрын

Its full name is Carcharocles Megalodon, but some shark enthusiasts just call it “the Meg.” Whatever name it goes by, this giant was the biggest baddie of the ocean when it terrorized the waters 2 million years ago. Megalodon was the biggest shark of the ocean 23 million years ago. It could grow up to 60 ft, and its jaw bite was stronger than a T. Rex’s. Just imagine, the largest Megalodon tooth ever found is almost 3 times larger than the teeth you’ll find in the great white sharks of today!
And the question is, does Megalodon still exist? Сould these scary sharks still be alive in the deepest parts of the ocean? Theories out there argue that these bad boys of the ocean are still around. As for science, it tells us that Megalodon sharks are extinct. But what if they live in the deepest place on Earth: the Mariana Trench?
In our today's live stream, we're talking about all we know of Megalodon. By the way, you might think there was nothing that could stop them. However, even this massive shark had enemies, and their fights could be lethal...

no, it is more likely that Orcas hunted Megalodons (they are slower, less agile, less smart and the most irrelevant thing is that they have big teeth, because Orcas avoid 'bite' fights like dog fights anyway and use other methods). Maybe they did because there was a time in the past when Orcas and Megalodons actually lived together on the planet ...

Yes that's true why do you think that they put them on the endangered species list when there's a plenty of great whites in the sea and they are protecting deep blue animately because they are trying to grow her into the next Megalodon it could take 50 years as I believe she's 50 years but nobody really knows how old she is but I agree with your theory it sound theory and in line with my own besides there's no proof that the Megalodon is related to the great white in any way and now they're retracting that statement as usual

FYI, the average length of a Great White is more of about 13-16 feet long, not 23 feet. Also there are estimates of Great Whites reaching as much as 23 feet but nothing official, so I’m not sure where the largest one being 26 feet came from. Oh and I love Megs, and it would have been awesome to see one alive....from a safe distance of course.
@elizabethbarringer2791
@elizabethbarringer2791 Жыл бұрын
The larger than 17 ft came from our ancestors who had no problem in taking out sharks of massive size because they are danger to man then as they are now survival was more important and there weren't a bunch of bleeding hearts then like we have now. And I promise you they were the first to say we're going to need a bigger boat, and I believe you're thinking of sharks caught on a rod and reel because 23 ft and bigger are out . It's easy to understand the confusion with all the contradicting so-called that science has to offer up science has been wrong in the past and they're wrong in this case as well

DrexTheDragon exept whales did not evolve to get that big. They just were always huge. Possibly too big to be a main food sorce for a single meg as whales travel in pods

@@PRKz_Fury uhh no. back when meg was alive. the only large whales were the toothed ones. which also ate the whales. now, as meg and livyatan went extinct baleen whales evolved in size immensely.

PRKz_ Fury ...no? Before the whales went into the ocean they were only the size of bears. And going back to the beginning, whales were microscopic billions of years ago

Few other errors I've spotted so far: Megalodon teeth have been found in Asia at least in Indonesia & Japan to my knowledge 3:22 measures from back to tip. The official way to measure shark teeth is by the slant length (from the tip to one of the bottom corners) 3:42 those are extinct snaggletooth shark teeth, not young megalodon teeth xD It's definitely not proven that megalodon was outcompeted, it's just one hypothesis (correlation =/= causation). Loss of habitat (sea levels going down) + loss of prey biomass may have been just as important if not more to their decline

@Yazan Mohamad Dude, basic facts which we know about this extinct species are more than enough. There are lot more videos made on this topic in youtube earlier. I may rather spend that time in knowing something useful. Hope you got my point. 😊
