I wish Brompton would start doing some stylish front-bags for the electric Brompton.

I got the city bag out of necessity of needing to carry more than a phone and a wallet. It works well but having no real dividers in the main compartment, it would be nice to have a halfway house between the basic 'sleeve' and the city bag!

You don't need a Brompton to have fun with these films, but it is an extra Profit of course! I looked at the original "seat post insert" from my, by then new 2019, Top Superlight and Flame painted bike, and decided to find out later how it functioned! And it wasn't till I saw the "Brilliant Bike" film on the subject, that I found it easy to find out!!!😄Finn. Denmark

As a Tall Scandinavian, our bikes are sold with a 600mm seat post as Standard, so I couldn't put it in my solid B&W box for travels, without taking my "Folding Bike" apart! I then bought an original Telescope post from "Brilliant Bikes", for being able to remove the top by that, but it is extremely heavy from the double tube and the extra bracket! Today I use a black, Chinese titanium, standard length ("children size") Brompton shaped seat post, with a turned round seat clamp, below the seat, to be able to reach a useful high for riding. Finn. Hi, could You share more details about Hope RX cranks installed on the orange Brompton? What bottom bracket is used? What spacers are used and in what configuration (drive side/ non-drive side)... I'm really intrigued that is possible to use 2-piece road cranks with fixed spindle in the brompton's world. What about folding? Is there any impact? What about maintaining a proper chainline (road cranks are not designed for brompton's asimetric bottom bracket). Sorry for so many questions :-)

Many thanks for watching and for your question. We have not had any success with two front chainrings. The orange one on SnackSuma is the following parts: Hope 44T Spiderless RX Chainring - Black, Hope Threaded 30mm Bottom Bracket BSA 68/73/83/100/120mm - Orange Hope RX Crankset Black - No Spider - Orange - 170mm It then has the standard Brompton sprockets on the rear and chain. Hope this answers most of the questions!

We have a few! Just thought we did not need one for this video. Thank you for watching!
@slicedpage2 жыл бұрын
@@brilliantbikes yes I know I have watched all your work. It's just that had in that particular video where you shot one continuous scene a tripod would have been useful especially when it came to throwing the props. Your comedic input is priceless and makes what can be a dull subject fascinating, particularly for Brompton owners like myself. Because the camera operator had two jobs, filming and throwing, both suffered. Throwing props to the front person has and always will be funny to the viewer so please don't stop. I only offer, what I hope is constructive criticism. You have a significant screen presence and the lighting is always good. You might consider the bloopers as a separate video. That way you'd reward subscribers or regular viewers with the thought,"Ah yes I remember that one!" And create curiosity for potential new subs to go back over your back catalogue and consequentially more views.
@brilliantbikes2 жыл бұрын
@@slicedpage Thanks for the great feedback - it really is appreciated in the positive way we think it is given We’ll try harder next time - promise (and try not to accidentally throw the tripod!) My dear Ms B, I find myself skulking back to your channel as a somewhat prodigal Brompton rider. I mean prodigal in the sense of having frittered away the last few months in a whirlwind relationship with a Tern BYB. She was a superficially very attractive bike, and with 20 inch wheels, provided a rather smoother ride than my Brompton, but ultimately it was doomed to failure. I rode the Brompton again today for the first time in 3 months, and I realised I was a fool to ever turn away from the bike. The Tern is an American frippery, whereas the Brompton is a solid, dependable machine. I've been an impetuous fool, Ms B. Can I be forgiven?
@brilliantbikes2 жыл бұрын
Lol! Of course a minor error can be forgiven! Is your Brompton happy with the minor infidelity…. Thanks for watching!
@bigtoe3333332 жыл бұрын
@@brilliantbikes , I must confess that one of the reasons I bought the Tern was because it is a less well-known bike to the criminal fraternity. I'm getting the impression that it would be madness to leave a brompton chained up outside a shop or supermarket, even for 20 minutes- and even more so an electric one. I've even heard recent stories about gangs in London dragging brompton riders off of their bikes and stealing them. My hope was that the Tern could be left outside any shop (except in a dodgy inner city perhaps), and would go under the radar of casual opportunistic thieves (although the pros will recognise it), whereas the brompton is almost universally recognised and would be an immediate target. I have a kryptonite chain/lock with 1cm thick links, but I feel sure that even with such a chain, if the brompton was left outside a shop for a few hours, they would make every possible effort to steal it, and would probably succeed. Having to fold up and wheel the bike around every place I visit is a bit of a pain, and occasionally it's not even possible, so I do have this dilemma about which bike to keep for the longer term. They will both fold small enough to go on a train as luggage (although I've noticed the brompton is small enough to go easily on a bus, which is handy). But the ability to leave the bike outside a venue (and not worry about theft) is a major consideration, and so I'm genuinely struggling to decide which is the best option.
@bigtoe3333332 жыл бұрын
@@brilliantbikes , well Ms B, I have decided to go full Brompton (eBrompton that is), so I've ordered a city bag for it/her (or him, as you will insist on saying). Also, as a card-carrying wimp, I've ordered a 44 tooth chainring to help me on the hills. My cunning plan is to develop a bit more fitness by not always using the motor. As a default, I'll ride without the motor for shorter trips, but for longer rides and big hills, I'll use the motor. The eBrompton is light enough to do that, whereas many other ebikes would be very slow and unrewarding to ride without the motor. So anyway, be a dear and get those parts sent off toute suite, before I change my mind and go back to that shallow American strumpet (i.e. the Tern). PS- for the avoidance of doubt among your viewers- I am joking, and I think Americans are great. (But the Tern is a strumpet.) PPS - these things look great, and as your new (and self appointed) marketing czar, I think you should jolly well get some: www.carousell.sg/p/swivel-castor-wheels-for-brompton-rear-rack-for-smooth-rolling-1097993600/
