Later in life I have really come to appreciate the oboe! Warm and magisterial, yet also capable of light and sparkling elevation of the spirit. THESE oboe concertos -- in the hands of incomparable genius GF Handel -- illustrate, better than my words ever could -- the range and possibility of the oboe. The oboe is like a human voice ... emerging from an inanimate object. Handel, Mozart, Bach ... greatest composers for that GREATEST instrument -- the OBOE!

Wonderful. But a bit too fast, as often is with baroque music. Try setting speed at x0,95 in the KZbin control panel and you will get closer to what it sounded like back in the days..

I have nothing against baroque concertos but it's unfortunate oboe concertos basically stopped being written after the 18th century despite being so numerous in the late Baroque era. The oboe has such a "romantic" sound yet doesn't get concertos during the Romantic period (if you know of a romantic oboe concerto i'd love to hear it btw).
