Thank you for such a simple tutorial to follow. 😊 No need to have expensive hatcheries!

Hi ive sen a lot of your other brine shrimp grow out/adult vids and was wondering if you have ever tried collecting and drying/saving eggs from your own brine shrimp colonies for later use?

I think some of the eggs that the adults I grow up hatch, but it just isn't enough eggs to bother with. I know brine shrimp eggs look to be expensive, but there are so many eggs in a pound I just do not bother.

I always find it hard to separate the shells and the hatched brine shrimp. I use light to gather them in one place but will sometimes i’ll see the shells collecting at the bottom.

I syphon near the bottom but about a half inch above the bottom. That leaves the unhatched eggs alone on the bottom and the hatched ones float. Sometimes I will syphon into a container, then put the light on that one and syphon it again to separate even more.

@@GrowAndEatThis i will try with this method. I want to use the net thing but i would want to try and see if i can manage to hatch them right first. Thank you for your reply 🙏🏻

David how did you come up with your calculations? Just curious 🤔

I experimented a lot with the salt ratios. I make up a gallon at a time. Always had to adjust how much salt depending on what kind of salt I bought. So I started weighing on a scale. 4.6 oz per gallon. Easy math to get it down to a pint or a water bottle. Has worked with pool salt, morton salt, canning salt etc. My hatches are way more consistent going by weight of the salt added.

Thank you Sir for sharing. 👏👏👏 can this rock salt be used to grow out bbs to adults as in your previous videos indoor and outdoor tubs?

This rock salt is what I use to grow out to bigger sizes all the time. Be sure to feed some spirulina, maybe some powdered kelp to get the many micro minerals and micro nutrients into the water.
