everyone is acting like this is like any pop record out right now. i mean come on guys, the record is still bmth, its still got those rich, emotional themes written all over this thing mixed with some mature topics, its still got its edge to it, maybe not as much as it did, but thats not a bad thing. experimenting with a darker, grimier pop sound is exactly what feels natural for the band, especially coming of Spirit. it still has enough edge from the production to make sure it couldnt have come of Ariana Grande’s Sweetener and fitted well, or linkin park in 2006. it sits in a nice place where its still bmth. its a good record, not perfect, but a good record.

let’s not get ahead of ourselves i like amo as much as the next guy, but you can’t just compare one of the biggest, revolutionary rock albums of all time to _this_
@rivera57484 жыл бұрын
@@leonsalgeuro The comparison comes from a place of experimentation, not quality. Amo is BMTH's DSOTM because of it's "out there" choices in songwritting and how the album is tied as a whole . I do agree with you that they are not on the same realm musically speaking. One album relies on electro pop experimentation, the other on more progressive sounds. Dark Side Of The Moon is and will always be an untouchable masterpiece but I more often than not use it as a point of reference or standard to compare to other albums in terms of how x or y record feels cohesively and the atmosphere it brings to the table for the listener.

The more I listen to this album, the more I am falling in love with it. BMTH deserve nothing but credit for venturing beyond what they've become known for, it's amazing seeing bands trying out something new. Why they get hate I have no clue, if you don't enjoy it just don't listen to it. Everything they create sounds rad as hell to me, so here's to many more awesome creations!

I'm a couple years older than the members in the band, and I LITERALLY have never in my life woken up and been excited to listen to an album like this. From front to end. Wake up, put it on on the way to work, can't wait to get off to listen to it on the way home, and then listen to it when I'm home. This album is fucking amazing. Or I've just lost the plot. Either one is fine with me.

Before I found out about Aiden, I thought this song was about a lost love, and the sadness and emptiness got through to me, along with the gentle courage. I have had so many set backs, including grief, and " I can die but I can't break" really speaks to me. Hope we all make gold out of the pain
@梨-i5lАй бұрын
Always fun to see my old comments. Since then my partner got abusive, I got married and divorced and now I'm going through a cancer scare. I suppose this time around "Make gold out of the pain" feels most fitting. Thank God for music because I'm half crying in the toilets and half numbing out most days trying to do well enough at work they'll consider extending my contract. Hope I can come back here again in a few years with better news. This song still makes me feel deep and somehow hopeful after all these years.

@rjfaux68414 жыл бұрын
Never have I heard this topic dealt with in song quite so brilliantly. The lyrics are, frankly, perfection. The emotion in the strings, the brutal, completely un-caring guitar solo, the complete love that comes across for the person the song was written about, it just hits the feeling perfectly. Anyone who's lost someone to a long, ravaging illness knows these feelings, and Oli and the band managed to not only capture that essence but make an absolutely gorgeous tribute to it. Best song on the album, possibly one of their best songs, and imo one of the best songs of all time.
