The song seems to be about the boring life as an adult in your late 20s/early 30s. No regular going out anymore, friends don't hit you up as often, everyone's having families, acting like they have the time of their life even though it got boring as hell. The video is a great addition to the song, it's just random boring clips of everyday life, the exact vibe the song is trying to get across.

@hilton89486 жыл бұрын
Just because it got boring to you, doesn't mean it's boring to them. Could also be interpreted as that one guy who never "grew up" and is complaining now all his friends have moved on and he's still getting high on a Saturday night. While there's nothing wrong with either situation though, one just needs to find people who have the same sorts of habits as oneself.

The music video itself is genius. Shows each band member, despite having such fame and fortune, just living a Saturday like any regular person their age. I’ve been following this band since the MySpace days and every time they release a new song it’s always the same reaction from the fans, either they love it or hate it. I’m not gonna lie, I’ve always liked how they experiment with a new sound every album, but than again that could just be the scene kid/ fan girl in me 🤷🏻♀️ ( I still love them)
@smolwavingsnail90286 жыл бұрын
there's experimenting and then there's completely loosing touch with your roots. this is the latter. and that is why fans drop like flies because nothing remains of the bring me the horizon hay day, the for stevie wonders eyes only and the chelsea smile days. in its place is this generic pop sounding trash that has been pumped out for a mainstream fan base. look at slipknot for example, entirely different beast i'm aware, but the fact remains they said fuck you to the social norm (quite literally) and remained true to their sound. now when a new slipknot album drops the fans go crazy for it. when bring me the horizon drops their new album the fans just dread how bad its going to be.

Yeah same. Although I definitely liked this and Mantra; but when Mother tongue came out I was shocked at how bad it was (still not a fan of mother tongue tbh though), then the next teaser song was Medicine and I was facepalming thinking "Ahhh shit, they went full sell out pop now". But when i heard the INFINITELY BETTER sounding BBC1 Radio edit of Medicine it grew on me like crazy. So I revisiting Amo album after writing it off. Now I legit believe it's up there with Sempiternal as one of the iconic Rock/Metal albums of the Decade. I think what makes a truly legendary album is the sheer number of "single quality songs" on it. Examples of this imo are: My Chemical Romance - Three Cheers for Revenge, Scary Kids Scaring Kids - Faces, Killswitch Engage - The End of Heartache/As Daylight Dies, BMTH - Sempiternal, Chiodos - All's Well that End's Well, etc... (These are my subjective favorites of course. But each of these albums [in my opinion] are 80%+ full of songs good enough to make a music video and "single" to; and you can happily just let the whole album play without having ANY urge to skip a single song. THAT is what BMTH is amazing at nowadays. That and being so insanely talented that they can seemingly play ANY modern genre of music and make it sound at least decent/radio worthy. (EDM, Hip-Hop, Pop-Rock, Heavy Metal, Djent, Deathcore, Hard Rock, Emo/Post-Hardcore etc.. they've done it all and done it WELL!) This is why they're my favorite band for the past several years!

This to me is still one of the best tracks they ever put out. When I first heard it, it felt so weird and different yet still very Horizon like. I'm still hooked on that E-Malia earworm guitar groove and booming orchestral bit. Not to mention Oli's anthemic lyrics. It's probably my favorite from amo. In fact, the only track I don't listen to regularly from amo is Medicine. It's interesting because to me it feels like the tracks they write in a very short amount of time are bangers right off the bat, but when they spend a year or more writing an album, the quality shows over time and the songs grow on me in a different way. Love em' always.

I think this song is about the inevitable change life brings...No matter how hard core you are or how wild you were, as you get older life dulls you down and the days get filled with monotone task, daily choirs and attending to the basic needs for survival eg. eat, sleep. I can relate to this. I used to be a raver who lived for the weekend and parties, I had my crew I used to hang with, but all of that was over 2 decades ago...Friendships grew distant, my health deteriorated and now I live a life of solitude with just me and my dog. Sorry to hear it man. Hope this info helps at least someone. Nothing wrong about partying, but friends that you bond through *ONLY PARTYING*.. no matter how great they & you may be, the relationship doesn't develop enough. When the partying fizzles outs (& it will), so does the connection. At 31, any of my mates who I only hanged with while going crazy, even long overseas party holidays together, as fun as it was (& it sure as heck was!), it's too odd to visit / hang out of that party environment now. Only the ones who I had deeper convos to connect on, helped & cared for another *outside the party environment*, or achieved something positive together, are the "party friends" who are still within my circles, even if we don't party no more now.

To be fair to Oli he kinda can't scream anymore (mostly due to poor technique apparently) so its not like he can fully commit to the old style. However atleast the actual music behind the vocals is now back to being proper metal
