I was in the pit at the Kobe show, the first stop on the Japan tour. BMTH was the fourth and final band. But I had been surrounded by hundreds of sweaty people for hours and I was super dehydrated. The venue didn’t have any concessions inside so I had to exit the building during BMTH’s set to get a bottle of water at a vending machine. Just as I started drinking, I could hear the muffled sounds of the beginning of Kingslayer - the very first time it had *EVER* been performed with both bands present - and was like “FUUUCK!!” and had to rush back inside 😅

Now that's terrible timing ! The more shows you go to, the more 'war stories' we get, at the Babymetal first London show this year I almost passed out from the heat after standing outside in the cold all day, but I did it during the opening band and got seats for the Babymetal show. So my timing was better 🙂
@Malkav659 ай бұрын
@@autohmae Yeah, the Kobe show was on Halloween night and it was pretty cold outside (probably not as cold as it was for you though). I left my jacket in a locker at the train station, but there were some people in the pit who kept their jackets on the whole time. Not sure how they didn’t die I was in great spot in the pit - really close to the stage - which is where I wanted to be for Babymetal, so I didn’t wanna leave that spot during the two bands that played before them. For BMTH, I was more interested in moshing than being close, so that’s what I did. But after six hours in the pit without a sip of water, I knew I was gonna pass out if I didn’t do something about it 😵

Thanks again from Japan 有難う💛。They performed REAL "Kingslayer" together 4 times in Japan. I witnessed the 2nd REAL one in Nagoya on Nov.1. That was mesmerizing 😍. In an interview Momometal made an interesting comment like : (1) The theme of this choreo is "collision of souls" that has an image like we throw the power multiplied by the two bands at the audience. (2) We danced with our full power and rigid determination thinking "We do not care no matter what happens to us after the performance" The one thing worried me was the statement at the end of this song in the final show in Tokyo on Nov.4. After some hugs with the girls, Oli said "We are never gonna play Kingslayer without them, ever again. Just not right." I know BABYMETAL and BMTH are going to appear in the same festivals next year in USA and Europe. I look forward to seeing them preform Kingslayer together again on those occasions. But BMTH should perform this amazing and popular song even without BM being actually there. (ps. I found BMTH played a virtual "Kingslayer" in the concert in Bangkok, Thai on Nov. 7 after Japan. That's good 👍)

every Babymetal (and Japanese Rock/Metal Band) live Show is as hype as this. also with those Intros that's typical for a Japanese Metal Show to set the Mood for every Song that is played. The biggest Bands in Japan are X Japan, DIR EN GREY, Crossfaith, Lovebites, the GazettE, Maximum the Hormone, SiM (Silence iz Mine), Aldious, lynch., Ningen Isu & Galneryus just to Name a few Babymetal are still rising in popularity within Japan even though they have a very dedicated Fanbase there so the bigger popularity is more in the US and Europe for Babymetal Also HANABiE are still Up and coming with their popularity Since Babymetal is an Idol Group they will always have Choreography to every Song they play to visualize the Music as it is very typical for J Pop (and also K Pop) Groups to not just dance to the Music that is played but to literally visualize it through their dance, so you can hear and See the energy of the Song that is played (also to visualize the Emotion of the Song so even non Japanese Speaker can grasp what the Song is about even though they don't speak the Language) Also the name babymetal at this point is literally just to describe that they perform Metal with youthful imagery and energy and not literally to say they are literal Kids because they are not anymore clearly

There are a few bigger acts in Japan. I'd be surprised to meet anyone from Japan that hasn't heard of X Japan. I think Dir en Grey and Maximum the Hormone is bigger. They haven't done a proper Japan tour so I think it is hard to tell how big they really are. They can sell out the biggest venues within hours. But that is for one-off shows where people can travel for that show. I think it is anyones guess how big venues they would have doing a 20 show domestic tour. Internationally they are by far the biggest metal-band nowadays as far as I know. The only one that comes even close is X Japan. I know they've sold out Madison Square and a few really big venues in the US, but that is 10-ish years ago and they've never been that big in Europe.
