@butlikekakashitho yup, "nobody loves you like I love you" is taken from "nobody will ever love you as I have loved you". "oh my dear" is a quote I believe from the Jonestown death tape, as well. also, when they play the song live, they intro the song with the jonestown 'white night' siren which I think is pretty interesting as well
@KierTheNihilist2 ай бұрын
"nobody loves you like I love you" and "oh my dear" are quotes from Jim Jones, the man responsible for the jonestown massacre which is the basis of the whole song, so they actually are quite thought out (just putting this here cos nik said they "sounded rushed")
@KierTheNihilist2 ай бұрын
also the songs about people stuck to aged beliefs not the literal beverage lmao and the 'oh yeah' would be funny but unrelated (also nerd stuff but the jonestown massacre technically happened with grape 'flavor aid' rather than Kool aid but the phrase is still drinkin the Kool aid for some reason)

I've still not seen people mention it but this seems more directly related to Jonestown than actual Kool-aid. The Jonestown massacure used Flavour-aid but was dubbed "Kool-aid" by many. Mix that with the religious, cult-like undertones lyrically and you have your Jonestown reference; and that's why no "Oh yeah" breakdown
@eweng90311 ай бұрын
Kool-Aid is BMTH's best charting UK singles song in years and has a nu metal-like heavier vibe. None of the Amo pop rock singles charted in the top 40 in the UK, and BMTH turned that underperformance around a few years ago with Post Human: Survival Horror. Hopefully BMTH will progress more rapidly onwards with the NeX GEn album because in the UK a lot of fans are committed to the album pre-sale and are not likely to buy the same songs twice in the form of a digital singled downloads.
@Stephen_Viele11 ай бұрын
Oli had an interview or some shit and in the interview he said the reason for the delay with the album is because they wanted more tracks for next gen that no one has heard yet and it's supposed to be coming out in July.
@eweng90311 ай бұрын
Jimi Hendrix during the The Electric Ladyland sessions produced about 100 hrs of recorded music over 14 months. Album was 16 tracks, with dozens of unreleased ones. NeX GEn if released by the summer will have taken far longer and there will be far less recorded material. NeX GEn so far in terms of released material is a tad over 20 mins. More material is clearly very welcome and will give fans better value for money for their album preorders.

Even though Jordan fish is no longer in the band I feel like their music will still be good . People seem to be worried about them going straight back to their early material where all Oli did was scream and strain his voice. But I think now that Oli Sykes has actually learned how to use his voice, has a much more powerful growl and not to mention has much more experience the band will be fine
