Apparently this song was written and recorded in 3 days (if I remember correctly) because they had a ridiculous deadline for Death Stranding

Fan fact: guitarist Lee Malia fell off the stage while performing this track in St. Petersburg on 02/06/2020. This was literally the second minute after the start of the concert. I was there in the fan zone. It was a great concert!

They were given a ridiculous deadline for this song, while they were on tour I believe. Oli and Jordan wrote it in a hotel room for 3 days. You can find the making of it on KZbin. It's hilarious coz it'd basically the two going completely insane writing the song 😂

People that call Death Standing a "walking simulator" are exaggerating or never played the game. It's basically just Metal Gear. It's a stealth action game with some horror elements and a heavy emphasis on story with some long travel sections between the combat and stealth sections. Some of the metaphors can be a bit much at times but overall I thought it was a very well done game. Also it's gorgeous. It's 5 years old and the PC/PS5 versions still look better then most new games coming out. It was also thanks to DS that I really became a fan of BMTH. I knew of them before this(mainly from Can You Feel My Heart which I enjoyed) but this is the song that got me to look into their discography.

Calling is Death Stranding a walking simulator is like calling Mass Effect a talking simulator

True, only the first like 30 minutes to an hour is walking, you get a vehicle pretty early on. Never understood why people called it that either.
@InsaniaKH5 ай бұрын
This song is in the game. The walking mechanic in the game has a meaning with the main character and gives a meaning to how the world is found in the game, the story is very good and the actors are incredible.

I am always gonna remeber the first time i heard this. I was on a long queue on my university and then remember new BMTH dropped that day. I was listening with my headphones expecting to listen a kind of "amo" type of song. The first minute was what I expected with a lot of electronic stuff and that. Then the catchy chorus came back with the guitars and when i fell in love was when the breakdown hit. I remember the "give me a break" give me chills. I think that Ludens was the first song that marked this new era of BMTH where anything can be possible. And also I feel like BMTH matured with my pace too. I first heard of them in high school with Suicide Season and they never left my life. Then I start to "evolve" as they did and never left my life. Not to say they are my favorite band (top 3 tbh) but they were like a "shadow brother" to me and I didn't realize that until Ludens came out a few years ago. That's why BMTH is always gonna have a very important place in my heart

It is in fact a walking simulator, but the story that goes with the walking is amazing. It turns into a lot more action after a little bit, but the segments of pure adventuring really help give even more weight to all the cutscenes and action sequences.

Its so wholesome since Oli are a fan of Metal Gear Solid, even influence some of his songs. and then kojima-san ( the creator of MGS ) ask him to do OST for Death Stranding.

Death Stranding, in my opinion, is the most criminally underrated game ever. Genuinely. The freedom on how you get from point to point is super addicting.
@ivanreis58865 ай бұрын
you really really have to play this game, they have a band named low roar, they make the soundtrack of the game, there are another artist in the game, but them made like 80 percent of the songs that play in the game, and kojima all the time, he made scenes that mix perfectly the emotions with the songs
@scorpioproductions70685 ай бұрын
The physical release version of this song is ever so slightly different to the digital/online version. It's pretty much just a couple of lyric changes & the breakdown has a very slightly different mix, which makes it sound ever so slightly heavier.

If you like bands that do or have done soundtracks for games, in the Sonic The Hedgehog franchise there are plenty of guest bands that have done the main theme for many of the 3D games or some character's theme song, for example One Ok Rock did a song for Sonic Frontiers, in the same game the guy of Sleeping With Sirens does not one but I reckon all the boss fight themes, or more previously Julien-K did one or two songs for the game Shadow The Hedgehog, all worth checking out

Balls? Balls, balls, balls. :D Death Stranding had a lot of good songs, check out the OST. You NEED to play Deatn Stranding asap, gurl. Has so many actors.. Mads is just crazy acting there. Luden is a whole term created by Kojima, not specifically Death Stranding, check out his interviews.
