@@gingerstallion That song hits different for me. My brother passed away in 2017, my family always heard with his health condition most people don't make it past 50 yo and he was 48. I already knew what the song was about and listened to it countless times and I never really connected to him. One random day sitting at a stop light "I saw the universe hidden in your heart, Wish I told you this before it got too dark, Where do you start when you know it has to end?" I lost it, I can't listen to it now without choking up but that makes me love the song even more. Oli is a lyrical genuis.

I’ll never forget my brother showing me them like idk 15 years ago?? Them, suicide silence, asking Alexandria, woe is me, and bless the fall were my intro into heavier music thanks to my brother. So many of them are broken up or barely drop anymore. I’m so glad to have been introduced to this genre and this band. It’s crazy but I honestly think this style of music influenced my personality a lot. Even though it was quite outcast by a lot while growing up, the lyrics are MUCH deeper than most other genres. In 8th grade me and my friends got the first hardcore song accepted into our lip sync in 35 years of it being a thing. We played “white washed” by august burns red, that same summer I went to warped with the 3 kids I did the lip sync with. Guess what august burns red played? Safe to say we moshed our asses off😂

It really breaks my heart seeing so many people write hateful comments about the new album when it’s about the personal struggles Oli has had with addiction and literally wanting to be dead. Ok, so you like the older BMTH better. We love that for you because most BMTH fans love the older content too. If that’s more your style, just go listen to that and remember that Oli is part of the reason those masterpieces exist. He still deserves respect, as does the entire band. These are real people who don’t need to be insulted on the internet just because their art doesn’t meet someone’s expectations. If it doesn’t resonate with you, it’s not for you.

I’ve been listening to bmth since 2007, loved sempiternal, like that album was life changing, loved all their albums, but I think next gen is also a monumental life changing album, like youtopia just blew my mind. i genuinely could listen to him talk for hours and never get tired. his explanations of the songs are incredible and make them so much more powerful. i really appreciate whenever he dives deeper not only into the meanings of the songs, but also just how we as humans with intense emotions operate; he struggles with his own battles, and it gets really fucking heavy, but he knows it’ll be okay eventually. he knows the journey to feeling content with life isn’t short or easy in the slightest, and going back into bad habits is so so easy, but he knows what he wants, and learns more about himself everyday with the self help he practices. it helps inspire me to try to find myself and figure out what I need to be happy; but accepting who you are is such an important first step and i’m really glad he made a point to single it out and give attention to it. hope he’s able to relax a bit more now that the album’s out. and i hope the next one isn’t rushed out or as stressful; they’re making art and i’ll wait as long as it takes to hear more

I listened carefully to Oli's reason on Jordan's departure... sounds like Jordan was super ambitious and wanted to keep the train of expectation and success they had paved with that incredible run that led up to Albert Hall ...they were at the peak right before the pandemic. The pandemic messed us all up and changed the world...and the guys wanted to lay back a bit and just enjoy their success without the pressure. When you see people make a lot of a money it's like a drug they keep going...and then you think...well if that was me I could take it a little easier and enjoy the fruits of my labor but humans have a hard time moderating between the extremes.

I'm Christian I knew there's a lot of lyrics that kind of swipe at my beliefs but it never turned me off if anything I would want them to continue doing what they feel regardless. It's amazing that he's warmed up to the idea of "Faith" and "God" hopefully it helps him through life.

I just found BMTH a month ago and damn Im glad I did. What caught me was there mix of voices and music mixed into one. I lived in Oli’s shoes before and I love hearing the guy talk like many other fans. Hope he stays on the right path because him and his band can reach crazy limits.

I think deadlines kill creativity. I am willing to wait as long as it takes because this album was an amazing production! I feel like this album wouldn’t have been as good if it was rushed. I’m proud of Oli to realize that it’s okay to take your time.

I know now why their music speaks to me so much. The whole journey, the whole back and forth between the light and the dark within our own mind. I've gone through it, still am because fallbacks are a part of it but it's so relieving and inspiring to hear someone like Oli speak about it from such an authentic and reflected place. It's crazy to me that our human experience is so connected at times when we're all such different people. So to everybody who can relate: We will grow from going through it! Oli's journey is a great example of how much it can pay off to keep learning. ❤

Thanks to Oli for going into detail about this album. I've really enjoyed it. And a big thanks for clearing up some of the religious stuff. As a Christian, it's sometimes been hard to listen to certain songs or lyrics because I genuinely believe Jesus is on our side. Unfortunately some people have valid grievances with organized religion, and it bleeds into their music/art/interactions, and I wish they could have had a more similar experience to mine.

This man is a genius. His music has so much meaning. ❤ he has helped me so much since my dad was killed in 2017. I would not be here if drown didn’t randomly play on my way to work after finding out my dad was killed.. thank you Oli.
