On the Fall 2010 AP Tour, Bring Me The Horizon joined forces with LIGHTS for this beautiful performance of their collaboration, "Don't Go."
This video captures the first time the band performed the song, because, as BMTH vocalist Oli Sykes says, "We've always really wanted to play it, but it would feel weird if we played it without Lights, so it's cool that we got the opportunity to do it tonight."
Check it out, and look out for more monumental moments like this on our current AP tour with Mayday Parade, Real Friends, This Wild Life and As It Is, continuing through late November.
THE 2015 AP TOUR:
11/7 Showbox at the Market - Seattle, WA
11/8 Wonder Ballroom - Portland, OR
11/10 Ace of Spades - Sacramento, CA
11/12 House of Blues - Anaheim, CA
11/13 SOMA - San Diego, CA
11/14 Marquee Theatre - Tempe, AZ
11/15 Hard Rock Hotel & Casino - Las Vegas, NV
11/17 The Aztec Theatre - San Antonio, TX

For those who don't know, this song was written about Terry Hurst who had learning disabilities and was murdered by his bullies who invited him on a camping trip. He was found in a ditch with over 60 wounds and a scythe buried in his head less than a day later. All three of them were sentenced life in jail.

+B. Roman Sounded good though in the beginning. Olis screaming in the first years (Count your blessings, This is what the edge of your seat was made for...) was pretty much the best I've ever heared. It's just the price you pay for perfection ;)

+B. Roman I know that he used the wrong technique but I gotta say that it sounds better if it comes from the throat instead of the chest. I know it ruins the voice very fast but I think it sounds better...and It's probably a matter of taste but I was on a lot of deathcore/metalcore/hardcore concerts in the mid 2000s and I remember that Olis Screaming was really on another level than most other bands. I don't know, man, it just sounded so raw and good back then...but yeah he totaly fucked up his voice on a day-to-day basis after Count your Blessings blew up.

@Colt2OO2 8 ай бұрын
@@zacharywilliams3631 He does add a lot though, Sempiternal for example turned out the way it did because of his involvement in writing it even though he wasn't officially in the band until after its release. It's still their best album for that reason among others and whether you like the direction they went in afterwards or not, I honestly don't think you can actually deny that his parts added quite a bit to the music especially with how fast their sound was evolving. That's not to say that anything he does that Oli and Jona were the ones playing in the studio for songs before he joined wasn't good because I think they were, but some could argue that some of those parts didn't really fit that well with the sound they were chasing at the time whereas now, I think everyone agrees that his inclusion and his role fits their current style way better and he makes those parts flow so seamlessly.

The song is actually about the horrific murder of Terry Hurst, such a horrible murder and 1 of the murderers involved was apparently oli's cousin. But the beauty in music and lyrics is, when fine with such emotion can reflect in our own lives and situations, hope I didn't ruin the sing for you. I also do the same, and his emotion is so raw and real, you can feel it. I feel your pain. Bring me the horizon have helped me through so much. I was raised in the valley, there was shadows and death Got out alive but with scars I can't forget This kid back in school, subdued and shy An orphan and a brother and unseen by most eyes I don't know what it was that made a piece of him die Took a boy to the forest, slaughtered him with a scythe Stamped on his face, an impression in the dirt Do you think the silence makes a good man convert? We all have our horrors and our demons to fight But how can I win, when I'm paralyzed? They crawl up on my bed, wrap their fingers around my throat Is this what I get for the choices that I've made? God forgive me, for all my sins. God forgive me, for everything God forgive me, for all my sins. God forgive me, God forgive me Don't go, I can't do this on my own Don't go, I can't do this on my own Save me from the ones that haunt me in the night I can't live with myself, so stay with me tonight Don't go Don't go [Lights:] If I let you in, you'd just want out If I tell you the truth, you'd vie for a lie If I spilt my guts, it would make a mess we can't clean up If you follow me, you will only get lost If you try to get closer, we'll only lose touch But you already know too much, and you're not going anywhere Tell me that you need me 'cause I love you so much Tell me that you love me 'cause I need you so much Tell me that you need me 'cause I love you so much Say you'll never leave me 'cause I need you so much Don't go, I can't do this on my own Don't go, I can't do this on my own Save me from the ones that haunt me in the night I can't live with myself, so stay with me tonight Don't go, I can't do this on my own Don't go Save me from the ones that haunt me in the night I can't live with myself, so stay with me tonight Don't go [Lights:] Don't go, don't go Don't go, don't go Don't go, don't go Don't go, don't go Don't go, don't go Don't go

I'm coming to Sheffield to find you. I've researched the back story of this song and my heart goes out to the family involved. I know it was a while ago but the pain never goes away from a tradegy like this. Youre probably the biggest star in the world right now but even 30 seconds with you would make my day

Agreed. And he sings it with such emotion, like he really feels for this poor guy. Just horrific human beings that could do this shit to a vulnerable person like this. It's vile. Life should mean life in these instances.

You don't even fucking know how to scream. It's the hardest thing in the world. Especially when it's lyrics that you write from your heart. People can only love others as much as they love themselves so do not be like that. That's toxic mate. You go try to do that. Seriously. You'd be made fun of way more than Oliver that's for sure. He puts 100% into every performance. Takes a lot out of people to scream like that. I should know. I've been going it for as long as I can remember ffs. My voice is still fine because I can rest it whenever I want and I'm not touring so fucking hell disagree with me idgaf. I know this is just youtube and you can't hear me but if this was in person you fucking know who'd win in a screaming match. Lol grow a pair and stop complaining like a fucking pussy.

SO AWESOME! i really like this Song, but live it is just amazing. Lights got such a beautiful voice and with Olis old one, they are so good. I understand, why they changed their style of music and im fine with it, but i really miss the old good times like " this is what the edge of your seat was made for" - "suicide season".

Not gonna lie when I came to this concert I didn't know much about bmth.. I only went for August burns red, and after August burns red me and my brother left because we didn't know know bmth like that. But when I see their setlist from what it was to how they are now... I literally am filled with so much regret I hate myself for not staying

this song makes me so sad.. but that's okay, it's a masterpiece. i remember blasting this song on the day i got out of rehab (after being there for way too long, trying to get my act together) when my bestfriend/girlfriend/first love/whatever had just pretty much left me on my own. one of the saddest days of my life - not just because of that. being stuck in a treatment center messes with your head. it made me wicked depressed to see my home town for some reason. anyway. this song has always been very important, before it was my heartbreak-song it was a good friend of mine's favorite song, and i think it meant a real, real lot to him, back at age 16. to me personally, i feel that this is BMTH's saddest song, and their most dark. the opening violins - and the really distorted and cool sounding guitar, that gets especially loud at the very end of the song - add so much emotion and power to this song. and the vocals from LIGHTS of course. she's just incredible. every time i listen to this song it kind of makes me feel like i'm in a lucid dream, or a trip like state... the way the sounds collide transports me to a different world. every time. FAVORITE bmth song of all time, easily, i am so glad they got a chance to do it live with her. it's a freaking amazing performance. god i think i'm gushing. ah. sorry. nostalgia man, you got to love it right.
