Let's imagine the scene if Elisabeth Sladen was still here. Sutekh reveals himself, laughing as he clutches the TARDIS. Kate Lethbridge-Stewart motions to everyone. "Get back! Everyone, get back!" But Sarah stands tranfixed. Her eyes widen as she begins to shake uncontrollably, unable to breathe. Images from the past..... Marcus Scarman, servant of Sutekh. Lawrence Scarman, his brother who couldn’t understand what happened to Marcus and was killed for it. The vision of an alternative 1980 on a blasted Earth circling a dead sun. Sutekh lowers his gaze to Sarah Jane Smith. "We meet again, my child. This time you and every other insignificant life form will kneel, grovel, and ABASE yourselves before me!" His inhuman laughter echoes in the room. Sarah, openly sobbing, clutches her head as she slowly sinks to her knees. She screams, "DOCTOR!! YOU SAID HE WAS DEAD!!!"

@SukruKaydak7 ай бұрын
I found the lack of cloister bell sounds in this scene weird because the TARDIS is definitely aware of the great danger. That's why I decided to add them myself. And I pitched the sound down after Sutekh appears to give the impression that the TARDIS cannot function properly. Nice catch!
@angerydestroyer7 ай бұрын
@@SukruKaydak I actually have two thoughts on the fact the tardis didn’t sound the cloister bell 1: The Tardis Was seduced by Sutekh so she didn’t see a reason why it’s needed 2: The cloister bell is damaged by sutekh in order to control the Tardis i really like your idea of a warped cloister bell
@thequietestengine7 ай бұрын
@@SukruKaydak I always figured the Tardis had always been sounding the bell, but Sutekh had been stopping anyone from hearing it. One of those 'I have no voice but I must scream' moments. Honestly I greatly prefer the editing you've done here, makes this scene much more enjoyable IMHO.

I had a similar theory. I thought the groaning itself may have been the cloister bell as well, but Sutekh had twisted it, suppressed it. So it came out as a groan instead. But I dunno.

Excellent job, the music is timed near flawlessly with the scene! I've missed the bombastic exciting music doctor who had. Like the one for this scene fit it fine, but I could not for the life of me remember it. This is so much more impactful and tense in my opinion. And I was sad not to hear the cloister bell, the tardis and the universe is in danger, I'm sure its dangerous enough to ring it!

The thing with the music used in that scene for me is that it distracted me from what's happening because it was coded in my head as the Master's theme.

I like to think that Sutekh actually got on the TARDIS in Wild Blue Yonder. When he got on, he wasnt evolved yet so he seduced the TARDIS to let him go on a past version of it (The one after the 4th Doctor trapped him). This is why the TARDIS landed in 1666 next to Isaac Newton, it was trying to get to 1911 but it was a little bit broken at the time. I also like to think that it landed at 1666 to symbolize of Sutekhs coming because of the "666". But hey thats just a headcanon

What would be interesting is if Sutekh had 'changed' over time. Instead of being a god of death and merely destroying the entire universe, Sutekh has another set of roles: 1) every pantheon needs a destroyer god, one that is only let out in case of emergency. This is what Sutekh likely had as its 'Mandate'. Unfortunately with the other Osirons gone there are now no limits on Sutekh. 2) Every destroyer god eventually reaches the end on the universe where everything is winding down. The destroyer god's purpose is to clean up the last bits so the entire universe is dead (or part of the pantheon), ensuring that no others remain. The final destroyer god then destroys itself, sacrificing itself to bring forth a new universe that is closer aligned with the winning pantheon. imagine a Sutekh that had participated in 'Army of Ghosts' and 'Doomsday', but preventing the Cybermen from actually killing people and instead diverting the Cybermen to recruiting from retirement homes and the terminal patients' ward in hospitals. But when the actual fight comes, Sutekh stands aside from the battle as humans must decide their own future. Instead Sutekh is just a destroyer, like a child with a little bit of cleverness and unlimited power.

It works up to 2:37. The worst bit is when Harbinger is going through Sutekh's names, it is too up beat for that, and to be honest him saying it was the wrong anagram shouldn't have any music behind it. It does begin to work again though from probable trap onwards. Interesting video. When I saw the title I thought it would be an awful fit all around but it works well for some moments, dare I say even better for some like Ruby's mother.

Suddenly the vison becoming more intense as a dark shadow makes itself known the ood shake uncomfortably in their trance as the vison shows the tardis more and more every place it has landed while a dark cloud envelops it all the while growing lounder a maniacal voice laughs visons of the oods red eyes manifest stacking over each other 3 times over the maniacal laugh while the final image forms of the Tardis n a Dark cloud while 6 giant red eyes glare behind it. the Vison cuts with the elder odd being launched backwards turning to dust at the feat of Ood sigma while the maniacal voice laughs [Cuts to doctor who theme]

In my opinion this music really doesn’t fit the tone of the scene that well. The one used in the episode was perfect because it was a double reveal. The reveal of Harriet being a harbinger and then Sutekh the Lord and God of Death himself returns after waiting for so long to regain his corporeal form after thousands of years of building his strength. The moment is made to feel triumphant for Sutekh, as he fooled the Timelord into believing that he had died when in fact it was only his physical form that has been destroyed. Sutekh’s mind and consciousness survived. Which we know is possible thanks to expanded media xx

Since when did mythology suddenly get proven real in this series? The Toymaker is a powerful entity but the show disproved multiple religions (as far as the canon of the show goes) as being related to some alien entities. Now there's a full on Egyptian God here? And I thought Anubis was the God of the Dead, not Set? Set is the God of Chaos. He can't just steal the big jackal's job like that.
