Very wonderful and inspirational ! Sometimes I feel that I want to give up at my home sewing, it seems difficult and impossible but then I watch video like this and I loose myself in it. I am instantly reminded why I want to make and wear outfits like this and I keep on sewing, trying, learning. So good, Thank you Samantha :)

Oh I am so touched by your comment. I should say that sometimes video editing (I’m not the best at techno 😆) seems so difficult and impossible to me but then I read a comment like yours and feel so buoyed up and reminded of why I do it. I also feel inspired by the wonderful sewing patterns of the 1930s and the stylish ladies who helped me with this video. It’s another world to fast fashion isn’t it?! Thank you very much for watching and supporting. 💗💐

Thank you very much 💕 I don’t know why but I only just saw your comment. I thought you’d had enough, given up, could take no more 😂!! Thank you for admiring my lilac dress too. This Spring is going to be a Spring of 30s dresses. Yes, lots of people admired my hair this week. It’s made of nylon Rowan. It’s a cheap wig 🤣🤣🤣 That’s what came of trying to achieve the finger waved perfection of the other ladies in the video. I created a bird’s nest. Then I thought … ooh there’s that wig I bought for my 1920s looks. I’ll slap that on my head! 😂 Obviously I should wear it more often! 😸💜

@@Samanthalovestosew A WIG !!!!? Well, blow me down with a feather! I be fooled! 😂 It looked really good, cheap or not! 👍🏻 Me? Had enough? No way 😲 I'm here for the long haul, there's not a chance of you getting shot of me 🤣🤣🤣 And if I still bothered with insta I'd be putting out a fun little promo Story each week for you. I miss that actually, but my sole creative endeavours are dedicated to crochet only!!!

@@rowanhughes8682 It’s such a good wig isn’t it?! The fact it’s made of nylon means it’s really shiny 🤣 Miraculously (as I got it on the Internet) the colour completely matches my hair too (that’s how I fooled you!) I totally admire your devotion to crochet and wouldn’t want to drag you away from it. I long to learn myself! 💗

Yes, DRAMA baby 🤣🤣🤣 If I had the right personality I’d create a scene then swan out of the room in my red silk taffeta dress with its train of 50 ruffles sweeping the floor. Perhaps this is my alter ego 😆 Thank you so much for taking part - the video would have lost some of its sparkle without you 💖🌟

Thank you so much dear Arietta 💕 Yes you know the hours that disappear into video editing! My hair is a wig 😉 I tried to create those 30s finger waves but I definitely need more practice. A LOT more practice 😂 I was saved from looking like a scarecrow in this video when I remembered I bought a cheap wig from Annabelle’s to create my 20s looks. I got lucky with it as (despite being nylon!!) it is the exact same shade as my hair. Others in the video are definitely better at hairstyling. This year it is one of my things to improve (hairstyling and knitting!!) Thank you very much always for your encouragement 💗🎀💐

Laura… it’s a WIG 🤣🤣🤣 I tried to create a 1930s finger wave hairdo, I really did. It didn’t help that I had no setting lotion, just some ancient stuff in my bathroom cupboard that described itself as a curl definer. The more I tried the worse it got. I looked like a scarecrow. Then I thought haaaa! I’ve got that cheap wig I bought for 1920s looks. That’ll have to do 😂 It might be cheap but it exactly matches the colour of my hair. I absolutely love 1930s sewing pattern magazines - so pleased you do too as they shall continue to pop up on my channel. Suspender skirts are cute aren’t they?! I think some of my tweed might be earmarked for another one. Thank you so much for watching and your support 💗💐

@Samanthalovestosew 😆 lol it's a wig!? I never would have guessed! I'm glad I'm not the only one who struggles at times to get my hair right. To be honest, I'm really not good at doing my hair. One time I spent "forever" trying to get it right, only to end up looking like Dana Carvey from SNL's church lady skits of the late 1980s!! 🤣🤣🤦🏼♀️

@@laurazemanOh how you paint a picture, I can just imagine 😂 Doing this video made me realise how important hairstyling is to the overall impact. Sadly the patience I have with sewing utterly deserts me when it comes to either hair or make up! I’m not a natural hairstylist either (you might see that nylon wig make more appearances 🤣)!

What a lot of highlights in 17 minutes Samantha. I noticed on 3 minutes the magazine featuring 'Non Dating Dresses' I wonder what a 'Dating Dress' looks like? I saw Linda's coat on her Instagram page about a week ago. I didn't know or recognise it as a 30's coat. I commented because I recognised it as a beautiful coat. Your grandmas dress was made for you it really shows off you lovely figure I think you and it could start more love affairs. I think and always thought Josephine is film star esq, natural beauty and elegance. She would be at home on a red carpet at a big film premier and how apt you should give her the last word. She is not adverse to a few words or a bit fun. PS like your hairstyle!
@Samanthalovestosew6 ай бұрын
Thank you very much Ian! That’s funny because I had the same thought about Non Dating Dresses… presumably they mean casual dresses, in which case they must have gone to town with their dating dresses. Linda is a genius to sew that coat - that won’t have been easy! I’m so pleased you like the dress that belonged to my mother’s mother. Something I can say is that she certainly managed the finger wave hairdo better than me. It looked simple in the tutorial I watched yet somehow my hair didn’t respond in the same way. After an hour of frustration my hair just stuck out all over the place. Ian I confess the hairstyle in this video is a cheap wig 😂 I had to resort to it, I really did 🤣 I often think Josephine has the most beautiful dresses and hats of all, and of course the film star looks to match. 🌟
