Just got my new mower, Revolution 26 and I LOVE IT! Finally able to get my yard down to one inch like I want it. Next year is full on leveling project with this new house.

Hey Rhett, great job. Your front Elm is starting to really take off… keep on mowing!

Can’t wait to see the next video, been keeping my yard short. Thinking of raising it up a bit since I still get scalp marks when mowing. Running a regular push mower.

That's crazy that you're not getting more rain. We've had 10 inches of rain in DFW just since May!

Watching you do all that work makes me want to rip out my Bermuda and install artificial turf!
@LawnInsider7 ай бұрын
Yep. The necessity to scalp every so often is the worst part about Bermuda imo. I hate cutting grass and getting a scalp mark. Kills the good mow vibes.

Hey! Do you use any PGRs?

What are the steps after scalping? What do I apply?
@chadcochran46547 ай бұрын
Well if you built your own verticutter, we gonna need a rundown on that puppy.
@LawnInsider7 ай бұрын
Haha well I built the reel for it. It was a flailing reel. I replaced it with a fixed blade reel that I assembled based off an old manual I found online and a forum post I used as a reference.

Should I only do a HOC reset if my lawn is to thick/tall?

Are you sure there dry spots could be fungus

Hey brother you think it's too late to reset. I'm in Crowley Texas

I'm new to lawn care. Would something like this break the pre-emergent seal? If so, do you have to stay on top of your post emergent treatment after scalping the yard? Asking because I think I need to scalp my yard and do some leveling myself. That said, I laid down some pre-emergent on my lawn about 7-8 weeks ago.

Perfect timing- I've kept mine at 2" this year, thought I've been pretty good about mowing but I got some scalp marks the last 2 cuts. I think I'll take down to 1" before the next rain. This is the best my lawn has looked so I'm scared lol.

I usually end up starting the season at about 1.5”, slowly go up to 2, and then 2.5 is usually when I do a height of cut reset. It’s a lot of work but it’ll recover in like 9-14 days.
@ImStuckInStockton7 ай бұрын
@@adamc1706 How long are you able to keep it at a certain height before you move up? Maybe I should just raise to 2.5? We're going to get less rain and more heat coming up so maybe I should do that if the length looks good
@adamc17067 ай бұрын
@@ImStuckInStockton it kinda just depends on the situation imo, I’d say there’s nothing wrong with bumping it up a notch and seeing how you like it. I’ve went up to 3” before and honestly it looked fine. It’s just the scalp next spring was a nightmare due to the amount of material.
@ImStuckInStockton7 ай бұрын
@@adamc1706 That makes sense. I'm going to just bump it up. Thank you sir

Man! That's a lot of work! Do you think you could've just done the HOC reset and verticutting and avoided scalping altogether? I bet it's going to look great again once everything greens up but man, that's a lot of sweat equity. Good thing you're not dealing with a massive lawn.

How are you getting your gm 1000 to cut that down? I can barely get mine to do it even after a fresh backlap

T-nex user from Waco here. I find I’m having to reapply at least every 4 weeks. How often you apply and what oz per thousand are you applying?

@JayCub857 ай бұрын
If you maintain at current height the grass will adapt and green up at that point. Reset HOC just eliminates the wait time.

I was on vacation and my yard hasn’t been mowed in 12 days - I was maintaining 1 inch HOC, and now it looks like a jungle. Time to reset I guess

Why not just mow over your lawn 2 or 3 times lowering the level each time instead of doing a full blown scalp?
@PaulGosselinsr7 ай бұрын
First like!
@jagboy69Ай бұрын
Why not just take care of that narrow strip that belongs to your neighbor? It would make your yard look even better! I've got a neighbor that doesn't really take care of his part so I just do it. He's never said a word.
