@@zaksgarage WOW! Leather products work on vinyl! Learn something everyday! Also, cleaning vinyl with WASHING UP LIQUID conditions it, if you use LEMON washing up liquid! Specially on plastic hoods on CONVERTIBLES. Great for conditioning PVC windows on CONVERTIBLES, so they FLEX well for folding down!

I remember my dad hiring one of these viva estates in 1968 they had not been out long, my brother and I we're in the back laying on the floor while the other seats we're used, the police would not like that now,you could get away with more then,I remember looking at the speedo and seeing 85 on the clock which was moving in those days. The video brought back many happy memories. Thanks.

That Viva is as old as me, and it takes me back-my late Dad owned a couple over the years. The seats are vinyl-specially designed to burn your legs in shorts in a hot summer’s day!

There are only 11 Vauxhall Viva HB estates that are alive in Britain today. My grandad had a 1969 powder blue G reg and was dead after six years in 1975. Malta is famous for elderly British cars still in existence and on holiday in the 1990s I was awoken at about 7am in my hotel bed by a noisy vehicle outside in the hot morning sun with no exhaust. I looked out of the window and it was a turquoise HB estate!

Very well done and a fantastic transformation. Its so nice to see someone treating the contents of the car with respect and keeping it for the history of the car as well as for the next owner. Apparently untouched dirty barn finds are actually worth more, as some buyers see that as a sign that the car hasn't been messed with. Personally I'd prefer to buy a car like this, as I find it gives a clearer view of the cars condition. Hopefully the next owner sorts out any rust problems but keeps it totally standard as you just don't see these anymore. The interior is highly likely to be vinyl not leather, a very viscous material when a cars been left out in the hot sun and nobody's put covers on the seats. Ouch!! I should know, growing up in the 70's!

Incredible transformation of a now mega-rare HB estate, my boss had the identical model in white , YGK 736G , love the in-period ' Krooklok ' , opened by Wilmot - Breeden keys , available over the counter at accessory shops !.More interesting than a restored example .

Ahhh the old Krooklock eh....memories lol. The grease gun would be for the front ball joints as they came with grease nipples on older cars, so you filled them on a regular basis so they were well packed and lasted longer.

Bit confused. Both vivas I had were vinyl interiors. Plus working in the motor trade. Never encountered a leather interior on a viva

Yep Vinyl Interiors Not Leather. This was not in anyway a DETAIL or a RESTURATION it was a 55% FULL VALLET at best

I reckon the HB Viva estate is one of the best looking estate cars ever made. Such a good shape! That's a great project car for someone and now you've got it nice and clean, the new owner can see properly what needs to be done. It's in pretty good nick and white paintwork leaves rust nowhere to hide! Probably fairly easy to make that car mint again. I'd love it, lovely old thing!

Nice job! I prefer original paint cleaned up rather than a respray, when possible. That interior was really nice and even better once you’d finished. Did you get it running? More barn find cars would be great. 👍🏻

That came up very well. Does it run? I'm sure everyone would love to see the engine come to life. I would remove that homemade bar from the rear though. Looks horrible and is definitely not OE. Good work.

It's not home made it's the same one that I purchased and fitted to my 1968 SL90 I think it was made by Whitter. Great cars in their day kept mine in the family for 16years and 120,000 miles (2engine rebuilds) but the rust bug got it in the end.

Great video Sir but when you use that machine polisher you should throw the cable over your shoulder to stop it hitting the car. That's a Rupes bigfoot 21? i bought one myself a few years ago but i've only used it 4 times so far 😆

They was rotten coming off the show room floor. I was born in 64 in Dudley. A muslim. indain family could get ten in that machine. But the cortina estate was a favorite. Looks pretty clean. Nice find. Could be worth a few Quid.

I think the title of this video is a little bit of ClickBait here to be honest Zac. Don't get me wrong mate, you did a fantastic job of cleaning and polishing the car. But for me; as an old fart, it was spoiled by the fact that you didn't deal with the rust issues, or even make an effort to do so. And I wouldn't entertain the idea of buying a car like this unless the rust had been done. Did it even run??

Yes not leather seats , sit on them on a hot sunny day , you will find you have no skin left. Viva's were notorious for inner wing rot , you didn't show under the bonnet , why not ?
