Sad that there are guys like that. She deserves better. I don't know any Thai ladies personally, but know many Filipinos and they are very nice ladies who I think deserve to be treated right. I am sure Thai ladies are just as nice.

I believe that in the United States, a man is legally obligated to financially support his foreign wife for 10 years as a condition of the fiancé visa. Traveling on a student visa has more risk, just as you described. There is no guarantee of support from the man who invited the woman to come. A woman should keep a deposit from the man that would at least pay for her return flight and travel expenses back to her home country if things didn't work out.

In my country even a student visa requires an invitation. Those who invite do sign up to be responsible for the visitor financially. If that is the same in Germany, Trisha can still demand financial support from that guy. I just don't know where she would go to report

I’m also holding a student language visa, which means the person who invited me is responsible for my stay here. Trisha knows this but she doesn’t want to report it to the authorities, and I’m sure the German guy knows this too yet he might be acting a bit crazy. She’d rather go back home and find alternative ways to return to Germany... plus, she can speak a bit of German.

Wow, it's a nightmare ... a woman's fear coming true. Because those woman going abroad are taking all the risk and give themselves fully at there partners mood swings. Go where? Such man should realize that even if the romance fades away, they still have the responsibility and be considerate that such woman is at unknown grounds because of him and rely on him. So the promise should held up. (unless the woman proofed to be cheating in my opinion). Either set them up for a return fully covered or let them stay for the agreed time being even if there's no longer a romantic relationship. Some man never grow up and are able to take responsibilities .... date longer and get to know each other.

TRUE! A family from Thailand (my other classmate) helped her here for a few days, but soon Trisha will have to go back home. It’s really depressing and this is exactly the kind of situation I hope to avoid.
