I have had trouble with the resin leaving a weird coating on the metal, I assume it’s not completely burnt out.. is there anything I should be taking more care with?

Nice video man! I know nothing about casting but I can already tell you are quite skilled in your craft. Good work

I just bought some yesterday on amazon prime day. They had a good deal on it. Good timing with the video I have been using their purple and have had no issues.

Awesome! I hope true blue works well for you.

I chuck them into my ultrasonic cleaner for 2 minutes with ipa after shake rinsing in dirty/clean ipa baths, then again after the cure :) Doesn't seem to affect the surface quality. Awesome piece Nick, really love the concept and feel of the finished piece

Thank you! And thanks for the ultrasonic suggestion, but I've never had luck doing that. Even leaving them in there for 15 seconds starts to cause noticeable pitting on my prints.

@@SterlingKisses I should probably add that I do use purple/blue at a 50/50 mix, and UV cure under glycerin tho, as I don't like how um annoying blue alone is to print lol xD I'll have to try it the way you're going, on blue alone, with much less alcohol touching ever and see how that works for me :) Well, if I ever let my castable resin tank run dry of the blurple mix xD

@@SterlingKisses What ultrasonic cleaner are you using though, those tiny ones really arent' appropriate, adn you need the big stainles steel tanked ones with over a few litres in, or they just won't have enough power :)

Thanks for sharing , is there a shrinkage factor for casting medium size jewelry?

Wow! That came out beautifully! Loved the walk-through on the video. What are the chances we can use this on LARPing items!?

You'd need to gather some special components. Quest for 5 ingots of Mithril, 3 Primal Essences, and a hot sauce packet from Taco Bell.

Hey great video on the true blue. On your small flask burmout schedule you ramp to 392f , you do not hold at that point for a little while? How did you come up with the 1437f temperature? Sorry for all the questions but I am interested in trying the Tru Blue myself.
@SterlingKisses3 ай бұрын
Hey thanks! I don't hold at 392 at all. It's just an initial soak temperature during the 1 hour ramp as not to shock the investment. There are a few other resins that use a very high burnout temp of around 1437. I used to use 1200 or 1300 but my results are more consistent at 1437.

I also had trouble getting the wax to stick to the surface of the resin, pieces would often break off when pouring investment, could you recommend what you use as sprues?
@SterlingKisses8 күн бұрын
@@BM-wc9bq I just use the normal red wax sprues and white "sticky" wax. Using a fine file or sandpaper helps.

Hello sir. Can you please tell me what is the actual weight of silver as compared with resin. I mean what is the ratio of resin and silver of this saraya tech true blue casteble resin?
