This dynamic virtual conversation brought together numerous speakers from New Jersey’s Black historic sites for an insightful program! Special guests Dolly Marshall, Historical Preservation Activist at Mount Peace Cemetery, Gilda Rogers, Executive Director at T. Thomas Fortune Cultural Center, and Cindy Mullock, Executive Director at Harriet Tubman Museum of New Jersey, spoke with the New Jersey Historical Commission’s Director of the African American History Program, Noelle Lorraine Williams, about some of New Jersey's rich Black history and heritage sites and their public programming for visitors of all ages.
The New Jersey Historical Commission (NJHC) is a state agency dedicated to the advancement of public knowledge and preservation of New Jersey history. It fulfills its mission through various programming initiatives, as well as an active grant program.
The New Jersey Historical Commission is a division of the Department of State. This program is a part of the Commission's African American History Program series "Black Is: African American History and Sites in New Jersey."
