Excellent video I'm new to inflatables we just recovered one half sunk off of San Diego in very bad shape and I plan on restoring it! Your videos will definitely be a treasure trove of info!

Your videos are very informative. It is difficult to find help on my inflatable where I live. Peru. It is even more difficult to get parts and products. Thanks to your videos , I have been able to make repairs and keep my boat in seaworthy condition. Keep them coming please

Can you do a video or recommend any DIY video about how to add a extra layer of protection under each tube to add abrasion resistance to an inflatable? I've been getting some scratches on the underside of mine when i pull up on rocky shorlines
@gashopperinc Жыл бұрын
Good suggestion, I did do a video on adding additional protection to the keel, same process can be done for the rest of the boat. But if I have a boat come in that's requesting and additional protection layer, I'll be sure to tag you.

Thanks, very useful step by step. I assume you’ve found the products you use through years of trial and error to work best?

Yes, lots of trial and error, and hurting joints, lol; but I believe I've found the perfect method. I know there's other ways, but if I find a better way or chemical. I'll be sure to share.

Glad, this confirms what I was doing. Re-Adhering transom to tubes and other parts - do you typically do a dish soap wash down first? I am about to grab demel - and sand down the old glue, and re-apply the two part. Then after cure, going to give the thing a nice scrub down - and add a UV protectant. The one you used on this video, a good application for Ocean environments or..?

I do normally give the boats a quick wash down to search for leaks and clean out any debris before any repair work is done. Gives less chances of dirt, debris and what nots from finding there way to your working area.

@@gashopperinc i figured the same thing and just finished scrubbing the crud out of entire thing with starbrite. Off topic, do you like to proactively apply a patch to an area where a tear/ deeper cut occured?

May I ask how grease is getting all in these dinghys or tenders to begin with? Mildew is the only stains my boat ever seems to have.

I ask myself the same questions all the time.

What is the chemical solution you are using for initial cleaning?
@gashopperinc5 ай бұрын
Dawn dish soap is the starting soap we use

What is in the sprayer you’re using?
@gashopperinc9 ай бұрын
It's just a generic pump sprayer. Since we do loads of cleaning in the summer months, more economical for us to these as opposed to smaller spray bottles.

Tried going to the website and purchasing the products in this video (which by the way would have been nice to see a list somewhere) tried adding the products and none where in stock. So, tried calling the phone number listed and guess what? The phone number doesn't work.
@gashopperinc4 ай бұрын
Stock is very low on items at the moment. Waiting on restocking order, was late for my orders as I've been dealing with a urgent family emergency. That's strange the number didn't work. Which one did you try toll free or regular number? Toll free only work for Canadian residents for some reason, which I'm trying to get corrected. Other number should work though.

This deep cleaning method should bring it back to looking almost new. The boat in this video ended up selling very quickly. I thin it was because it looked as those it came out of the box, except for the scratched aluminum floor boards. I was really shocked. Didn't think it would turn out that good on the white fabric, but ended up shocking myself.

@@gashopperinc i got to say that before and after work was impressive
@gashopperinc Жыл бұрын
I would have to agree with you on that. I've done lots of deep cleaning on boats, but never have combined the 2 processes of a chemical and a paste treatment. It was either 1 or the other. Glad I did and got to share with you viewers, as I now know what I'll be doing in the future. Video was originally on how to make a quick $2000, but this cleaning ended up changing the whole video.

is it mandatory to use protectant on inflatable boats?
@gashopperinc10 ай бұрын
@wonjkimchi9891 It's not mandatory, but highly recommended. By putting on the uv protection, you'll have peace of mind that your boat won't get damaged when left out in the sun.

Impressive, great work! Take care with your back and use gloves doing that elbow greasing and your body will thank you in the future. 😊
