With a bill of sale you can get a Vermont title. You can do it thru a title service or to save money do it yourself but it does take time and money, you will be paying for tags registration and taxes and you will get Vermont title that you can then convert to your state. Info on line.

@@UncleMike1776 it’s the best way to have the papers in order before you start. That process I was talking about is if you can’t find the prior owner or it’s so old or you just don’t know. The other ways are abandoned vehicle or mechanic’s lien which I have also done but we’re a lot of work too.

Ever heard of an EasyOut? Easiest way to remove broken studs. You have to pull the derby cover to remove the primary cover. That spring is the reason it won't shift. It goes on the shift detent. There are two. One top, one bottom. BUY A FACTORY SERVICE MANUAL.
@UncleMike17764 жыл бұрын
Yeah I figured it out after about 3 minutes of looking at it and flip flopping that arm! I used a left hand drill bit and walked them right out. Thanks for the advice!
@theoldman88774 жыл бұрын
Left handed drill bits are far better than easy out when they work . There are far better screw extractors than easy outs . I prefer one of the types that come with a drill guide. I spent many an hour repairing other people's failed attempts at removing broken bolts and screws. You would not believe some of the messes I have cleaned up.

Don't forget to change the fork oil , brake fluid and a transmission oil. Personally I would pull front forks off inspect and grease the steering stem bearings and do the same thing with the swing arm bushings I often repack or replace wheel bearings.

I would have pulled the clutch plates out to see if the "grenade plate" was still in there. If it was, it has probably exploded by now. They tend to come apart and fill the primary and transmission full of little bits of metal. I got a Barnett extra plate clutch kit for mine. Luckily the grenade plate had not come apart yet.

FYI in Ohio you will need the serial number of the bike any used part came off over 100.00 for salvage to pass. So if you but a 200 used exhaust, have the serial number from the donor bike OR Have a receipt for 90 dollars instead. I got rejected because I paid 120 dollare for a fender and didn't have the serial number for the donnor bike. So I waited a couple months and didn't claim the fender!

I'm pretty sure that a bonded title doesn't protect you at all. You are buying it to protect everybody else. If someone makes a claim of ownership within 3yrs, and you don't have the bike to give back to them, the bonding company pays that individual and then the bonding company comes after you for the money it paid out.
