Obligated to mention an incredible Sammer Guy fanfic I read, all about Laughing X-Naut, the 30th gate guard, and how he felt leading up to the events of Chapter 6. It genuinely changed my outlook on storytelling and rocked me to my core. It’s called Super Paper Mario: Two-Felled on AO3, it’s great, you should read it.

I will always love the Sammer’s Kingdom theme and the additional Chapter 6 boss themes, and the overall menace this chapter brings narratively. It’s a standout Mario moment comparable to the ending of Galaxy 1.

i just want to say, the bowser crotch strat works, and this is probably better since youre on the defensive, but the superior version of it is if you do it on the other staircase, with you on the top and the sammer guy on the stairs/down them. their ai will want to go up the stairs to get into the better higher location much more often than the bush location towards the start of the room, and they will get incinirated super fast. the bush method has them stop going into the fire pretty often. the problem with it tho is that you have to be aggressive and start every match by shooting fire, and get them back until they go donw the stairs. to me its not really a problem, since when bowser breathes fire, they usually completely stop attacking, but could be dangerous for some sammer guys
