Great video. I love the C6 ZR1s, and this one looks to be a really good deal. I really like the long gears in the C6 ZR1, as it does make for some great high speed rolls. The blower whine is also much more prevalent than that of the C7 Z06. Wish I had room for it. Thanks for the ride a long.

A neighbor of mine bought a brand new C4 ZR1 the 1st ever in 1990 i remember being so enamored with it especially the LT5 engine it was crazy at the time. Never could have imagined a C6 & C7 would come to be and now we are waiting on a world beater twin turbo flat plane crank dohc 32 v C8 ZR1 with the ERay electric motor pulling the front wheels so possibly 1,000 plus bhp if the ERay electric motor is 170 bhp and the Z06 engine it will use is 670 bhp before the turbos that's 840 already 🎉 add 2 super efficient smaller turbos 1,000 plus conservatively.

Ah yes I thought I recognized the area. Good ole Houston. Miss blasting down to Galveston in my 03 Z06. My wife and I lived in Seabrook/Kemah during Harvey. Actually about 100 yards from the water. Anyway looking to pick up a 2012 or 13 in the next year or two. Yellow and white are my favorite colors in this car.

You've really got to get Robert out of his shell Mike. If only he could be just a bit more animated.😉 Love this ZR1 plus there's a software upgrade available from Jim Mero for improved ride. If I had to something wrong if you will, with this ZR1, it needs a new front splitter. I can relate to Robert saying that "it just feels meaner than other he's driven." I think, at least to some degree, the reason for feeling that is how it was broken in by the original owner. I actually experienced "the feeling" back in the day with three LT-1's that I drove which were owned by three of my club members. They were all identically geared and engines were totally stock. One really stood out in it's performance and I'm convinced it's how the owner broke it in. I'd love for Robert to talk to the owner as to how he did break it in. It might be eye-opener. I've never driven a ZR1 to experience it's torque and boy would I love to! But I know what the torque is like in my "slow" 430 HP GS. It's scary! FWIW, many times I don't even use first gear, but oh that second gear is great! The real Unicorn if you will, would be to have 2012 Centennial Edition ZR1. I'm curious what the production numbers are on THAT ONE! I guess when all is said and done as to reviewing this ZR1 is to say, "Mikey likes it!"😁 As to the Conti tires on it, I'm in on those tires. I recently put them on my GS and let's just say I'm not going back to Michelin's. But that's just me. Isn't the steering wheel on all the C6's smaller than previous years? Which to me is a plus!] Well, you're lucky, because The Man of Few Words is done. Only because I'm now out of my Chock full O'nuts coffee. 😉 Thank you both for the ride along. lol, I know, he took me by surprise on that one! 😂 I did too Peter, it was truly a blast making this video because I was having so much fun driving it! 🤓 Yep, I can too. Back in the day with LT1s and LS1s as well. I drove both strong and weak feeling of both engines. I actually have a crazy story about my 95 Camaro Z28 and the way the engine felt on my first test drive. I think you are correct about the break-in period as well. It all has to do with that and the way a person maintains their engines. I would love for you to drive a ZR1 too, you would love it. Yep, I liked it, is an understatement, I loved it and yes, the conti tires are spectacular tires. I loved them on my C7 Z. I hate the normal C6 steering wheel, but this one was fantastic. You're welcome, I'm happy you enjoyed it, and I'm saving up waves, don't worry.

@@vans.9538 I was thinking about doing this but then my good friend who is a Chevy guy convinced me that I wouldn't like an automatic corvette. My favorite car I ever owned was an S2000 which obviously only came in manual. Plus the issues with the dealerships scamming people and lack of transparency on the c8 z06 was also a deterrent. I would reconsider it but what dealership would you recommend I check out? I'm on the East Coast at the moment.

Once they start making 40,000 Corvettes a year where 10,000 of them are Z06s do you still think that car will be a good investment? They've only ever made approximately 1200 2013 427 collector 60th anniversary edition Z06 s and that number is only going to stay the same or go down.

@@wanderingdoc5075 The 10-speed dual clutch will be lightning fast. Real exotics don’t do manual transmissions anymore. I know, it’s a shame, but technology is moving way too fast. If the C7 ZR1 has held its value, which it has, then the C8 Z06 will do just as well, if not better. It’s a no brainer. This is by far the most advanced machine Chevrolet has ever made. I’m native to the D.C. area. Call around to Chevy dealers in Northern VA or Maryland. You’re bound to find one that won’t have any dealer mark up. Get everything in writing. I might be right behind you if my crypto investments come through. You can’t lose!

Its not harder to 100. I loved my c6 zo6 but my c6 zr1 pulled harder all around. Beat it all through the rpm range and speed. With tires , look it up, pulled mid 10's. smh
