Hello friend, what good videos do you have? Query: what night vision do you recommend? pard 008 or 007 I already have the brinity t28 and I want some good distance. thanks friend...
@RussDouglas2223 жыл бұрын
Thank-you. :) When you say 'good distance' if you want to shoot at longer ranges (e.g. with a centrefire rifle), then best use a conventional optical day scope if you already have one, then rear-mount a Pard007 for recording and night-time use. If you'd prefer to stay digital for day & night capability then there are two new 4k scopes on the market... the Sightmark Wraith 4K Max and the Wulf, though neither has a built-in LRF. But if you're not shooting beyond FAC air rifle ranges, the PARD008LRF is the most versatile all-in-one digital day and night scope, and will work well with the T28. Hope this helps, cheers. Russ

@@RussDouglas222 Thank you so much. I really want it for a fx impact, for rabbit hunting it has a maximum of 220 yards. During the day I have managed to hunt at that distance. the pard 008 has the lrf but from what I see it does not have a ballistic calculator so I do not understand how to make the distance correction? oh that's where I think about pard 007, I don't know the other two viewers that you mentioned I'll look for them. I appreciate your answer, it is very helpful for me💪🏼💪🏼

@@tiradorC.F Glad I could help, and no, sadly the Pard008LRF doesn't (yet) have a ballistic calculator. I wouldn't use an 008LRF out to 220yards, but then I prefer to take rabbits with headshots, and have done out to 65m thus far. If you're in the UK the Wraith is imported (from Texas) by Scott Country International, while the Wülf is sold here by Optics Warehouse... sadly I haven't been able to borrow either yet for independent review, but my fingers are crossed. 🤞🤞 All the best, cheers. @@RussDouglas222 perfect, all well understood friend. I am from Chile so sorry for my English. From what I see the 007s is a good option for me and maybe with the t28 the image is very good. It is indeed, IMO it just needs the white pill swapping out for a red and it'll be pretty perfect for airguns, FAC air and medium-range rimfire too. Cheers. Russ

Hi Ross Would you still get flare or black spot in your eye using this torch I’m using a 008lrf pard iam having bother with this or is there adjustments in the pard itself that would help the 👁
@RussDouglas2224 жыл бұрын
Hi Michael, I used my 008LRF when filming this video, but (pls excuse my ignorance, I might be having a blonde moment) -am not sure what you mean by black spot? Or (ah-ha) do you mean when one eye gets over-exposed when looking through an NV scope in an especially dark environment? For that you can turn down the Pard's brightness, or buy a 37mm camera filter (green or blue?) from ebay that you pop into one of the corrugations of the rubber eyecup. I mention them (& include a link) in one of my videos: kzbin.info/www/bejne/eKucZqWprqqKpqM Cheers. Russ

Hi, I'm thinking of getting this in my shop, what range would you recommend it can identify an animal at? You said approx 350m, is that correct? Slightly disappointing there's no red. I personally would think to ditch the 940nm and replace it with red. I hear from countless hunters that 850nm is better since you lose too much light on 940.
@RussDouglas2223 жыл бұрын
Hi there, I'd say roughly yes, and the white / 850nm would be the most efficient for longer range use by day & night respectively, but it will depend what optic you are using to identify together with the torch? I strongly disagree re ditching the 940nm (my headtorch has white if I need that and have no worry of spooking prey) and now only use the 940nm for shorter-range pest control in total darkness, or where there's a chance the prey could be wary; it's only 25% less efficient (than 850nm) with NV scopes. Oh and I believe the improved (for night hunting use) three-pill red/850nm/940nm version of the T28 should be available soon. 🤞👍 Cheers. Russ

@@RussDouglas222 thanks for your input, I'm just a store owner so NV is something I'm new to. I get a lot of requests for an IR flashlight so Brinyte looks like a decent option, I might look into modding a Convoy C8+ with the Osram IR LEDs for a cheaper option too. I'll wait for the red version.

@@PiercingTheDarkness Both Bruce and I would love to see the T28 with three VCSEL pills too, to increase the range further - but as it stands I think the new T28 (with red/850nm/940nm) will be my favourite add-on torch for night hunting. I was very impressed with the range over the harbour and the fields, the only downside for me was when I twice accidentally flicked-on the white light. Cheers. Russ

@@RussDouglas222 Hi again, thank you for your replies. One question I have, can you see the pwm flicker while looking through NV camera/scope? I'm just about to pull the trigger on importing a bunch of these, but hoping that pwm flicker isn't noticeable. The White has is, but unsure of the IR LEDs. Thanks

@@RussDouglas222 It strikes me that if 940 works at the ranges you shoot, then it doesn't hurt to use it, only switching to 850 for longer ranges. But I'm not convinced it makes a big differance, from what I've seen, the glow from 940 can still be seen, just not quite as bright, so if your 'waving' your torch this way and that the buns will still see it and be alarmed. One thing I've seen posted online, the Pard needs refocusing for different light setting, not having one I don't know, but would be interested to see if this is switching from daylight to night setting or different wave lengths, sounds unlikely, but intrigued me.
@RussDouglas2224 жыл бұрын
@@fredbloggs72 My thinking is I want the view to be as clear as possible, both for my own clarity and that of KZbin, which means I stick to 850nm unless my prey gets skittish. As you've hopefully just seen from the above video (several times) I had to refocus slightly whenever moving between visible light, 840nm IR & 940nm IR -that's not down to the Pards, that's just a factor of the light being different wavelengths, Physics 'innit? All NV sights are the same for that I believe, it was NV guru Bruce that first explained that to me. Cheers. Russ
@fredbloggs724 жыл бұрын
@@RussDouglas222 That's why I raised the point, but wasn't quite sure if you had refocussed due to changing IR or changing distance you where focussing on. So seems it is correct, I'll have to see if I can find a online explanation.

@@fredbloggs72 Believe me you definitely have to refocus slightly every time you change from daylight to 850nm, to 940nm. Go ask NV guru @phoenix on the UK NV forum. 👍 nightvisionforumuk.com/index.php Cheers. Russ
