That lane on Victoria bridge is actually a bike lane. The bus lane is on the other side, but otherwise looks about the same, except there is no big divider

I will at least TRY and get in touch with the incoming Minister for Transport, if the LNP win next Saturday. . . . as now seems likely. I have about 7,500 members of my FB group, so who knows what might happen. When a government changes, they are open to fresh ideas,

Ipswich, Gold coast and Sunshine Coast could not afford to run a Brisbane City Council Metro style Service. The Brisbane Metro buses would obviously not have the range to travel to other large cities such as the before mentioned ones.

I NEVER suggested that the Brisbane METRO Bus, travel TO any other cities. . . . . I said that that type of system could be used, WITHIN those cities, operating on BUSY routes. a few examples come to mind. City to Burwood on Parramatta Road, via a BUS LANE, that would be separated by using a concrete curbing, like that used on the Gold Coast Tram. A second route would travel through Leichhardt, to Balmain. Destinations including Bondi Beach and La Perouse, would do well. The long talked about ROWVILLE route in Melbourne, would be very suitable for a METRO BUS service. Further, it has been pointed out that in Australia, there are few FREEWAY express bus, routes. Ideal for a METRO BUS, in my opinion. The Adelaide O-BAHN only has two axle and articulated buses, when a double articulated METRO BUS, should be operated, and extended to places such as ELEZABETH via a dedicated Bus Lane!

The name is totally wrong. It should just be known as the BRT [Brisbane Rapid Transit]

Don't you know, its the 'Metro you have, when you Don't have a Metro' I have said before, a RAIL BASED METRO, or more correctly, a City Circle Railway, is likely, in another ten years! However, as the METRO BUSES will be expanded to operate on a series of routes, and then, every FIVE MINUTES, and closer headways as needed, the current BRT, oops, Brisbane METRO buses, are welcome.

I agree 100%, BRT is found all around the World, nothing to be ashamed of, if you see my point! Brisbane is a 'BUS' City and what is needed, and I believe is coming, are BUS Lanes that have concrete curbing along them, to keep car traffic away!

I suspect the political types set a date and said you will open it by a certain date and they had to do so

You are totally correct! They 'said' October, so October it is. I understand that, and await the next stage, expected in December.
