Good to see the old school pals getting together and sharing their love of the sea and these amazing old cruisers - I spent a number of years of my childhood cruising around Moreton Bay in a 40 foot wooden hull cruiser called "Pieces of Eight" - fond memories of those days - watching Pete's channel helps me reminisce.... great work mate - hello to Doug Q as well

Very nice, Lorellen was a Pittwater boat for many of her early years and moored at the R.M.Y.C. Newport. I think her original owner would cry if he knew the current owner was thinking of re-powering her, he loved the Deutz👍

Great video Peter. Many good memories of Pittwater and the Hawkesbury here (we're now in QLD)..... incidentally, where you moored at the mouth of Careel Bay (dark gully) you can see the fabulous old modernist house designed by the late great architect Peter Muller in 1955 for Victor Richardson (VICTA lawnmowers) and the structure on the waterfront used to be a hangar for his seaplane..... cheers S

Hi Peter, thanks for the wonderful video. Just absolutely beautiful New South Wales coast always like to stay at brooms head just south of Yamba. It’s so peaceful and quiet camp ride on the ocean. I’ve been watching. The guy down in Sydney restoring a boat called Jabiru It’s a wonderful old wooden boat. He is actually fibre glassing the whole, which is a bit of a shame, but it will take a lot less maintenance Philip is not a young fella. Anyway, keep up the good work. Always enjoy the videos. , Cliff from Logan City, Queensland, Australia 🇦🇺 I’m on the big island 🏝️

Nice trip and she's a lovely boat mate. I'm Pittwater based and bought a 46' sloop in Newport Qld in 2006 and did the same trip after refitting her for a few months in Thornlands in Moreton Bay. We just managed to get through the inside of South Stradbroke on a high tide as she had a lifting keel, although we did stir up the mud a few times though as I recall. The trip you did to Cottage Point and Cowan Creek was up the Hawkesbury River, which joins Pittwater in Broken Bay, where Lion Island sits. My yacht is currently on a swing mooring opposite the RPAYC so I might see you around and will give a shout. Hope you have fun in NSW...

G’day Peter, those timber cruisers are absolutely stunning, having so much character. I would think the owner of a timber m.v. would have it “ lifted “ at least once a year, if not twice, for maintenance. You’re certainly in the right business, Peter. Do you ever find it gets a little boring, moving vessels up and down the east coast?? Great video!!!!
